Bug on MFA sms

E-trade, surely you recognise the importance of MFA and that not all of your customers are based in the US. On your website you can only do SMS MFA for US numbers and on your app you cannot scroll down to select other countries, in particular the UK. Please fix this ASAP as I cannot log into my account

Why don’t the developers actually READ the reviews posted.

Many people, including myself, have posted here that this app is unusable outside of the US. 2FA cannot be setup as you can’t select any country not on the first page of the drop down. All the developers seem to do is post a generic response unrelated to the complaint. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE RESPONDING.

Unusable if you live outside the US

App prompts you to set up 2FA security after first login but when you are prompted to provide your phone number you can’t actually scroll past the initial country selection of countries beginning with A.
The default country selected is the US, of course, so I guess the app developers never bothered testing a user from another country.

Cannot select UK for 2FA

I received a response from the developer which just looks like an automated response to any generic question saying check out the FAQs here….. or call us on this US number. I’m trying to register a UK phone number on my account. Your FAQs don’t answer this and I’m not making an international call to tell you what I’ve already posted. Can’t you just fix the drop down menu so we can select a UK number?

Cannot select UK for 2FA

I have seen several other reviews regarding this issue and it still hasn’t been fixed. The drop down menu to select the country for your phone number is still not operational so I can’t enter my phone number for 2 FA. This effectively locks me out of my account. Please get this fixed.

Terrible

This app has got worse over time. The country selection won’t scroll and therefore I can’t select UK.

Second issue is that I don’t have a mobile number registered to me so how else am I supposed to verify my account. I’m technically locked out of my account with no way to get back into it.

New upgrade unable to access account

The recent app upgrade requires iOS 16.2 and now unable to gain access via the app. What about those of us still happily using iOS 15.8. Really poorly thought out!

Least User Friendly Interface

I have tried a few different investment platforms for casual investing and E Trade has been by far the worst experience. The user interface is unnecessarily complicated to find out very simple information. For example when selling anything there should be a very simple way to “sell all” by her option does not exist. It’s difficult to find how many shares you have invested in a specific company. The list goes on. I will be pulling my money shortly invest on a platform that is intuitive.

A separate complaint separate from the UI was the initial transfer process. It works by two small deposits in your account, and then you type in the amount of those two deposits. The first time I received a single deposit 3 days later which was confusing. I typed in the one deposit twice and got an error message. On day 4 the second amount came in and I typed in each amount and the same error popped up. I the switched the numbers and got a third error and was locked out and needed to restart the process. Never found out what the issue was.

There are so many platforms to use for investing, I am not sure why E*trade would ever be the option after experiencing others.

Can’t get into account die to UK mobile

Country menu won’t scroll, so I can’t choose UK and therefore can’t enter my number to complete the two-step verification. Phoned the helpline and was told my UK number would be linked to my account within 24 hours. Several days later….. nothing’s changed. Poor service!

Amazingly SuperStunning Incredible Crypto App

I was impatient to carry out necessary research but I really wanted to jump on the crypto trading and investment buzz. Unfortunately for me, I invested 75,700 USD worth of bitcoin with a fraudulent company. I was happy to watch my account grow to 214,575 USD within a couple of weeks. But I didn't realize I was dealing with a scam company, until I tried to make an attempt to withdraw. I made a withdrawal request, and noticed my account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason. I tried contacting customer support, but all to no avail. I needed my money back at all cost, because I could not afford to let it go. So I tried all possible means to make sure I recovered my scammed bitcoin. I did a lot of online search for help, and tried to see if there were other people who had any similar experience. I stumbled upon a cryptocurrency forum were a couple of people mentioned that they had been through the same process but were able to recover their lost cryptography funds with the help of So I filed a report on MarianDiana41 (at) Gmail and he was able to help me get back all my lost funds withing 2 weeks I feel indebted to him.
