  • Very Helpful

This works very well "off-line" and has a lot of useful information about the major sites. The "What's nearby" is pretty cool because when you get to a site you don't even have to look it up just pull it up from the nearby list. There is a lot more info about the sites than you get in a typical guidebook, very informative. We found that we would almost exclusively use the app at a site once we got there. More pictures and pictures that open up full screen would be a nice addition, as would a GPS enabled map for sites like the forum. the map is ok but not as good as the google map.

  • Killer App for Rome

I'm literally in bed the first night on our Rome trip and I've only used the app for finding out where on the map we are. Completely perfect! We can get lost in Trastevere or walk out of the Pantheon ( done both already!), and I pull this out and literally in 5 seconds I get a blue dot showing me exact where we are. I'm finding I don't even need to open any other maps except if one shows where something I want to find is. But I use this app to get there.

Of course with this power I immediately want more. Could there be a line showing how to get where I want to go? Where is the bus schedule? Sure these would add more value, but for $2, it is difficult to describe how great it feels to walk out of a building in this amazing city, in the dark, on no sleep, and with the streets literally running in crazy, random directions and not have to think, okay, where is North?

  • Invaluable, a must have for visiting Rome

This app is a must have when visiting Rome, especially for anyone who has a US carrier supported iPhone or iPad, and wants to minimize the use of the VERY expensive Italian data network. The street map, subway map, and all the descriptions are loaded and work on full Airplane mode. This app kept me from getting lost on multiple occasions. The map has great detail, a must when you realize that what looks like a "big street" on Google Maps is actually a narrow alley, not to mention the ever changing names of streets in Rome.

  • Planning tool for an upcoming trio

This seems pretty intuitive, and I'm pleased so far at my ability to geographically map out some things most efficiently. Friends have recommended certain restaurants, so I'm happy to know where they are in refernence to our hotel, or sites we plan to visit. When you come out of the Capitoline Museum, and want lunch, it's good to have a marker to remind you that someone you know has found a winner you won't miss because you sat down in a not-so-great pizzeria half a block away out of sheer hunger.

  • Wouldn't go to Rome without it!

I used this app every day on my recent trip to Rome. The Gps was accurate and always got us where we wanted to go. We used public transportation the whole time so the metro map also came in handy. I liked the information provided in the guide as well. It felt good to be a tourist in Rome and not half to walk around looking at a folded map all the time. Definitely worth the money.

  • Not bad, a little buggy

This is a convenient offline map and information (largely from Wikipedia).

One frustrating bug. ... After searching once, the Guide contents stop linking to the guide when you tap them. Requires a shutdown of the app and restart.
  • Fabulous program

I love this program. I have used other GPS city tour programs (by other software companies) and had almost given up on these types of programs. My faith has been restored.
The GPS locator works fast and very accurate. By using the search function and the GPS locator you can always find your way. The locator has a beacon to show you what direction you are going in. As you walk around Rome you see many people lost with maps in hand. Not a problem with this program.
It also allows you to identify a site by touching on a point on the map.
One other thing, many of these programs require you to connect to a network even when they claim otherwise. I navigated Rome with no network. This is one of the best programs I have ever purchased.

  • This is a great app, used it all the time

First time in Rome, stayed in the middle of town just south of the Pantheon and the first day I was all turned around. Would not have bee able to figure out where to go without Rome2Go. I downloaded 4 different apps for this trip and this is the one I used "all" the time for information about buildings and sights, for getting around, etc. I cannot say enough good things about the little blue ball that shows you which direction the iPhone is pointed. The first day I refused to believe I was really pointing West until I looked at the compass. A must have for going to Rome or for any other place. My only complaint, if it is one, is that they did not include the bus lines. The metro lines are great for Paris, but in Rome, it helps to know the bus lines and where to catch them.

  • Great App!

This App is definitely worth the cost! I cannot tell you how many times I used it while staying in Rome for 3 months. All the information is easy to read, interesting and through! The maps are great if you need to quickly reference your location or look up a stop on the Metro! I used this App like crazy and didn't need to buy a guide book. The fact that it doesn't need to be connected to the internet is rather helpful too. I highly recommend this App! :)
