  • Predatory UI Forces Advertisements

Trying to scroll past ads triggers as a click which opens them. That is, tapping the screen seems to register the same as pressing down and holding the screen to scroll when the section of screen you touch is an ad. It does not seem to occur elsewhere. You cannot touch an ad in any manner without it opening them. This is not common with any other app I’ve used. This is a predatory design that misleads those paying for advertisement and wastes their money. It is also a hassle for the users. There is no very good excuse for this—it is simply a result of negligent programming that wasn’t tested thoroughly.

  • Illegal Sales Activities

I would give Kijiji a 4 Star review, but they promote illegal posts, especially in the rental housing section. Their filters are awful there as well - because they allow posts that lie about their category. So if you are looking for an apartment - thousands of users post under apartments… for sublets and room rentals. And you can’t filter any of that out. And you always see posts saying “women only” “students only” “men only” - which is 100% illegal: You can’t discriminate on sex, job, lifestyle for renting. I’ll continue to report Kijiji and other similar apps to business, housing, and government watchdogs. There is also no easy way to report users, and it shouldn’t be my job to do so. Unless Kijiji wants to pay me. Generically Kijiji is OK as a buying and selling site. I do like it better than other apps, but they are all doing the same thing and promoting or ignoring illegal activity. If Kijiji responds to this with a message that is anything other than “we will put a stop to this” then you can ignore whatever they say as unhelpful or misinformation.

  • This app has ‘degraded’ over time

I’ve been reading recent reviews and they’re all basically right. Ads have taken over, plus glitches in interface. It frequently crashes unexpectedly. Used to be good but I guess the money people have taken over, and don’t care about the programming. Time to start looking for something else.

  • Becoming very bad app , stealing money from you if it is paid add

The app was very good previously, I dont know what happened now I posted an add and I paid 19$ for the add then another 10$ for “urgent” them they deleted the add without notice or anything and they didn’t refund me the money. I wish to have a new advertising app so I wont use this one at all.

  • New app update not good

This was a very good app. But recently, it was updated and the new app is not as user friendly as the previous one. It is now so slow and clunky. I will remove the app from my phone. Not sure why waste time, money and energy trying to update something that is already good.
  • Everything Ebay touches turns into trash!

App overhaul is pure garbage! Buggy, slow, just pure crap. Clearly the people working on this app don't use it at all. I won't even bother listing the issues, but I'll give one example; the description text is barely selectable and they chocked the system overlays so you can't translate on the spot. Serving in a country with two official languages, you would think they expected this use case.

    Cooperate greed ruins everything

  • New app: not functional

The new app looks good for browsing, but it doesn’t work with saved passwords on iPhone, so logging in is nothing less than a chore involving moving between the Kijiji app and iOS settings to retrieve the saved password. The old app would auto fill the login details, and this one doesn’t. As a seller and buyer, I’ve gone back to using the website because if you can’t easily log-in, you can’t easily reply promptly.

  • Old version is better

I like it but with the new version I find it more difficult to navigate and search, the old version is much better
  • New app is not working

First off, after the app updated from the App Store it will not accept my password. I use the same login information on my laptop and it works. By the 3-4x trying the same information credentials it finally works. Secondly the app is very glitchy. Looking up items, the app says none available for common items. I can’t trust the app anymore. App logs me out randomly which is annoying when I’m in a chat with someone.
