LOTS of issues and scammers!
Years ago this site was amazing! A great place to find good deals, make a little money and meet wonderful new people along the way. In the last 2 years or so, this site has transformed into absolute garbage. Now it’s riddled with ads, seriously can’t scroll the feed for 5 seconds without getting an ad, literally half of the people that message are blatant scammers, administrators (oddly enough, ALL old women) do not actually do anything to protect buyers/sellers but rather ignore your concerns and have a “we don’t get paid to do this” kind of attitude…uuuh, why are you here then? To be nosey?!! The app itself is so infested with bugs I have to continuously delete and redownload the app just to get it to open. It glitches, freezes, makes corrupt listings you can’t change or even have access to, kicks you out right as you submit a listing so then you have to do it all over again, it’s just a mess now. Facebook Marketplace is superior. You will actually sell items through marketplace whereas with Varagesale, you’ll be lowballed, ignored, scammed and frequently have your time utterly wasted. I used to exclusively use Varagesale due to it’s safety, lack of ads and ease of use. As with most things decent, that’s a thing of the past. Needs to tweak a few things
Needs to make things visible to other close communities. Some people are willing to drive to another community (20-30 minutes away) to get something that someone in their community may not be selling. People in my community are cheap and like to watch and watch and watch. Having listings available to close communities with buyers who are willing to drive to the sellers for the merchandise vs the people in your community who are just watching. I literally had free items before- no takers just watchers. If I could of offered this item to other communities then I maybe have gotten a taker!! ….. There needs to be a search within a sellers own listings. A sell may have to look for a particular item that is way at the bottom and they may have go though a 100+ items just to find it but with a search in the sellers own listings then just type the item name in the search and boom it will come up- similar to EBay and Facebook marketplace ……Show lessLulu- boboo
This app USED to be awesome! Not anymore!!!!
I used to LOVE this app!!!! It was my very favorite to buy items from. Used it daily!!! At some point advertising was added for outside companies…cool whatever.
Fast forward to current day (2024)…I literally cannot even use this app! What a change! You cannot scroll without accidentally touching any advertisement which you have to just sit through until enough time passes before you can skip, continue scrolling then BAM!!! Within seconds you have accidentally hit yet another conveniently placed ad for a game or whatever stupid stuff they are promoting. Every time I open VarageSale on my phone now…i immediately close it and the memory of why I no longer use it comes flooding back to me.
Although there are some nice features to the app, it ends up being a HUGE & pointless waste of time unless you are in to sad advertising! Be better VarageSale!Show lessHippiechick1332
