No support for for now playing meta data on custom stations
Works well enough, but doesn’t seem to support meta data like track information and artist when available from custom radio station URLs. Also doesn’t add custom radio station URLs to recently played queue when used. I only use the service to access HD radio streams in the car and on my Sonos system so I’m not interested in all the other noise in the app. Please add meta data and recent stations support.

Old reviews are wrong
I used this app years ago but swapped to a free app produced by our national broadcaster because it filled my needs for local news and programs while overseas. Just recently that app has been overheating and draining the battery of my iPhone at an alarming rate. Reloading that app did not fix the problem so I have returned to TuneIn Radio Pro which works without a hitch. I notice a lot of the negative reviews on this app are years old and I cannot comment on the recording functions because I don't need/use them but what I can say is; this app works, happily running in the background as I write this review from overseas without a VPN which is everything I need.

Former glory
TuneIn Radio Pro used to be an awesome app. Now it no longer has a rewind feature, nor the record button, and it drains the iPhone battery. If they were to fix only that, it would deserve a Five Stars rating again.
Huge complain about this app
This app is terrible 😞 The volume
Doesn’t seem to be working on certain radio stations on this app
At all every time I would start a certain live radio station’s The volume will not work every time
That’s so annoying I’m annoyed 😒
For sure I’m not a huge fan of this app at all it’s definitely terrible 😢 I’m never 👎 again going back again on this app anymore at all

Enough !!!
I paid to get TuneIn pro and you keep removing stations from me …. You just removed Bloomberg and that it , time to move to iheart and its free
Don’t waste your money
I paid £9.99 thinking the pro version would allow me to listen to international radio stations. Well you can’t which is disappointing. I assumed I would be able to load the pro version into my Sosos app I can’t it allows something called tunein new and if you want to listen to international radio stations or add a live stream url you have to pay a monthly subscription of £7.99 a month which is extortionate considering the live stream is free from the respective radio station.
I’m no longer using my Sonos system for international radio but rather a Bluetooth JBL speaker (no subscription required).
Tunein Radio please refund my £9.99 you’re no longer value for money?

Now the back and forward buttons don’t work.
When it works, this is the greatest radio app ever.
But TuneIn has a horrible new tic: many times a day, when I select a channel, TuneIn will route me to different channel, and I’m stuck listening to it until I return to the Home Screen and reselect my choice. That doesn’t sound horrible, but the app is so slow to get into gear and route you to the one you originally selected. It hurls.
I own that I make my share of wrong key strokes, but I started nothing this pattern around the end of 2024. I key board and thumb board day and night and I haven’t experienced a commensurate increase in key strokes in my work. This isn’t just user error. I’m a digital editor, and I hate wasting my precious time; I review mobile pages on my phone throughout the day, so I’m very careful when I keyboard.
I wonder if this is an intentional marketing strategy. You can’t program your Home Screen, and the undesired channels always surround the user’s favorite and most-played channels with ones I’ve never played and never would select. It sure seems TuneIn is engineering channel placement this way to put more in front of the user without doing any matching analysis, eg, there’s lovely country music, but I only listen to classical music in this app. Is there a way to clear the cache of channels you don’t want to link to your account after they’ve been erroneously linked to your account? Please get your stuff straight, TuneIn.

UPDATE: V. 3.6 is CRAP!
UPDATE 2023: Having accepted the previous design changes, my only complaint is that they took away the ability to pause and jump back a few seconds, as many other types of streaming allow. It’s needed to catch some info that goes by!
UPDATE: Well, they've broken it: redesigned the app in an Apple-style boring layout which splits things into more pages than necessary... But most importantly, ALL MY FAVORITES ARE GONE!! I spent TWO YEARS selecting those - some awesome stations and shows - and pfft! Deleted!! Where are they? Why would a developer do that to its users??? Tunein should check my new comments against the old ones, below. Night and day. **************************** This is terrific-- tons of stations, streams and archived programs/ podcasts from all over the world! For a lifelong radio fan, in the digital era, this is truly a dream come true! I didn't even bother seeing what else is out there, this one keeps me very well occupied, and I'm bookmarking new favorites all the time. How great!

The best ever app.
I love this very professionally made and maintained application.
Clutter making user experience dreadful
I have been enjoying this app for years but take issue with the increasing amount of clutter getting in the way of the usability of the app. I have no interest in sports radio or any of the other suggested stations invading the homescreen; I’d prefer to find the stations I enjoy on my own, thankyouverymuch. My favorites list which includes hourly updates of certain news outlets, podcasts, etc. has now been relegated way down the page, forcing me to scroll past a bunch of nonsense to find them. Additionally, I’d like to see a “swipe right/go back” gesture to navigate back to the home screen without having to crawl up to the upper-left corner and tap the “X” in order to return to where I was. I have a big phone and my thumb doesn’t reach up there easily.
