Price History of Foodgauge

Description of Foodgauge

Will this food cause me to gain weight? How much protein is enough to fill me up? How many carbs are too many? FoodGauge is the answer! FoodGauge helps you determine if a food will cause you to gain or lose weight. It's great for comparing different foods. Your kids will love using FoodGauge at the store. It helps you make healthier choices, by making food labels easy to understand. By entering protein, fat, carbs, fiber and the number of servings you plan to eat, FoodGauge rates that food for you. It's that easy. Free for a limited time. As seen on Fox News!: "It's a good tool to help you simplify the process of deciding what foods do and don't fit into your diet." Featured on ABC News!: "The app allows anyone to plug in the amount of fat, carbohydrates, fiber and protein from any food and see how it ranks on scale from one to five... To have it in my hand at the store is great!" What other doctors are saying: "Like the concept, I find it easy to use."-Weight loss physician "It looks really great...I think it is a great tool for someone motivated to change their eating habits."- Pediatrician. ************************************ FoodGauge is a revolutionary food rating system that helps you make healthier eating choices by analyzing the types of foods that you are putting into your body. ************************************ FoodGauge makes understanding nutrition labels easy ************************************ Trying to figure out if a food is going to cause weight loss or weight gain by reading a nutrition label is confusing. FoodGauge makes it easy by implementing a simple five point rating system. Foods that score a four or a five are most likely to assist in weight loss. Food that scores a three should be eaten in moderation, while those with a score of two or one should be eaten sparingly, as they will likely lead to weight gain. ********************** How does the application work? ********************** FoodGauge is a very straightforward application. Enter the nutrition label information into the calculator - fat, carbohydrates, fiber, protein in grams per serving for the serving sizes you plan to eat. Once you have entered all of the fields, press "calculate" and FoodGauge gives you the food’s numerical score at the bottom of the screen. *************************************** One simple number can get you on the path to weight loss *************************************** This single score tells you what you need to know in order to make better eating decisions. Foods that are high in protein and/or fiber will rank highly. This includes lean meats, chicken, fish, eggs, and nonfat cheeses, as well as vegetables and low sugar fruits. Many high protein, low-carb entrees will also be highly rated. Foods that are high in sugars (carbs) and/or fat will be poorly rated. This includes baked sweet products, candy, butters and oils and most cereals. Sticking to lean proteins, vegetables and fruits will assist in making proper choices. ************************************* FoodGauge is created by trained medical professionals ************************************* FoodGauge was developed by bariatricians (weight loss physicians) Robert Ziltzer, MD and Craig Primack, MD, founders of Scottsdale Weight Loss Center (www.scottsdaleweightloss.com). Both Dr. Primack and Dr. Ziltzer are members of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and both have been recognized in Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doctors issue. • Great for kids, too!

I showed the app to my kids, and they loved it. When we go grocery shopping, Foodgauge takes me out of the role of telling them what not to eat. I used to have to tell them "no you can't have that because it's unhealthy." Now I just tell them to "Foodgauge it." They type the info right off the label with no problem. When they find that their favorite snacks are a poor choice, they put them back on the shelf. It helps them make informed choices.

  • Good app

I haven't seen any updates on this one in a long time. Perhaps it doesn't need any.
