Mr.

For an iPad app, this stinks. It's not intuitive and I'm surprised Ordnance Survey gave it its imprimatur.
And it's only a portal to more expensive maps. Thumbs down.

Great hiking companion.

I needed something to access maps for a hike across England and took a chance on this since it lets me access OS maps offline. I needed maps with more detail than Google Maps and when it comes to hiking in the UK nothing beats he OS maps. This app works great on my iPad 2, loads up quickly and when I zoom in everything happens instantly and I see a more detailed map. The interface is easy to work with, the ability to have all my maps offline is a major plus as well as being able to re-download any already purchased maps. The OS maps are a bit expensive if you want the 1:25k; the 1:50k is good enough for me though and the cost is reasonable. Overall a great app, with a nice slick interface, easy access to maps that automatically adjust their detail depending on your zoom, and works really fast. Just make sure you have a lot of space on the iPad if you are going to use a lot of maps (they are in the 100's MB and that is just for a partial map of England).
