Good service and good app
I've got a free Dropbox account but bought into Livedrive after a friend in the film industry told me he uses it to back up his video work. If you've got over a terabyte of media files on your PC and you want them backed up then this is MUCH cheaper than any other secure server I can find, and the service is simple and works well. This app is the icing on the cake - it works exactly like the Dropbox app and to be honest I'm yet to find a difference between the two. Only hiccup is that it won't play a few of my video files, which could be just because some are uncompressed and pretty big.
For £10 a month, I now have access to every file on all four of my PCs wherever I am in the world, and if any of them fails I can easily restore. Awesome peace of mind.
I'd like a non-beta version of the software for my work Mac but hey 80% of the software I use every day doesn't work on a Mac. If you're complaining about this app because the software doesn't work on your Mac, then buy a PC. They're made with the same chips in the same factories, but they're much more useful, even if they don't look as pretty.Show lesslexusperplexus
Good but could be better
Useful app but missing some key features:
1) needs to cache artist/album names in music folder. For instance, I have thousands of artists and albums, but it will only show a few at a time. You can load more into the viewer, but it will not remember them when you leave and come back. This makes the music player almost unusable. Maybe offer option to selectively cache certain info locally.
2) Should have the ability to create multiple playlists and to view them from the main music folder.
3) Should auto maximize pictures and rotate them when the phone is rotated.
4) In addition to music link on main screen, would benefit from photo and maybe movie link to folders containing pictures and movies.
5) Will not play many common movie formats.
6) Does not show full folder names for long names. Thus you have to click on multiple folders to find the one you want.Show lessDoctim77

I started backing up my pc files... It's gonna take days I think. This app does exactly what it says and lets you view many types of files on the phone... Can't wait to use it on an ipad!ciderfrom11
Live drive
Good app, it has to be a secondary product to using a PC or mac. The whole point of live drive is to get access to your data anytime and anywhere. As a stand alone product it does need developing further, as cloud technology moves and grows in popularity this will be a must have app! No it's not FREE why would it be, it's a great service which I am happy to pay for.Show lessAl Shafto

This app marks an great improvement in file access. I was able to upload a photo and share it I wish it would stream my video via iPhone but overall it's smooth and without bugs. I hope further improvements made to livedrive service are reflected in this app.jpturnbull
