  • Long time customer unhappy

Okcupid used to be my favorite dating app. I’ve had a profile (on and off) since 2014. Over the year the app has changed, slowly losing its best features. The most recent makeover has been the saddest change yet. All of the question explanations suddenly disappeared. Those explanations were vital to finding a match. A lot of the questions only give a black and white opinion based on the answers given, but being able to enter an explanation made all the difference. Another crucial aspect to finding a match was the “acceptable answer” feature. Oftentimes, just because you don’t have the same answer as sometime else doesn’t mean you don’t mind if they answer differently. Being able to check boxes of acceptable answers made things really easy and interesting. Now, combined with a lack of explanation, I think people get the wrong impression and swipe away from you before understanding that there could be real potential. I am really disappointed in the new app. It definitely feels like a completely different app than it used to be. I will now have to find a new favorite dating app. Please don’t do away with the questions altogether. They are what make Okcupid different from the rest. Better from the rest. Or at least they used to!!

  • Australia Users Beware!

At least 99% of the women are using a VPN to hide the fact they reside in Philippines, Brazil, China, Japan, Russia. These accounts are scam accounts. It blatantly obvious. Some oven write they are not in your location in their description, they don't have any worry because there's little to no moderation. They don't even have an option to report vpn/ spoof location.
Not worth you free time let alone purchasing a subscription.
You'll be pay something like $30-$40 a month to see the 26 likes you received from international people.
Really think twice before using this service.

  • Over run with scammers and passport dreamers

It’s a shame what this has become, because the algos are quite good, it should be a good app as it has in the past, but it attracts so many fakers and time wasters it’s almost un usable.

A large amount of people are in East Asia, Africa or South America Pretending to be in the UK. I guess hoping for some distant romance than ends in them moving to another country. And there is no way to opt out of this if you’re not interested in this proposition.

And another large amount are not women at all but scammers pretending to be women. They’re fairly easy to spot, they ask for contact details early on, if you entertain that he’ll soon start asking you to invest in bitcoins or worse. I’d recommend you don’t give our your personal details to anyone until you have met.

And a moderate amount of users are just advertising IG accounts and which further link to only fans etc. Free advertising and sell total time wasters.

What’s left over is a very small amount of genuine people. If you have the stamina to Wade through all the above.

It feels like a neglected space, like the owners have just given up.

I would not recommend this service as it’s currently running.

  • Optimism quickly dissipated

Having found only scammers and fakes on one dating app, and got nowhere on another which recycles the same profiles over and over again (and which, it turns out, is owned by the same bunch as this one), I was hoping things might be a little different here. No such luck.

Apart from the fact OKC was named one of the best ‘free’ apps and isn’t free at all, after setting up my profile, within minutes I had about 14 ‘likes’. Encouraging eh? So I took the plunge and paid my money. The 14 likes grew - I had about 30. The majority of them were from profiles of girls in places like Nigeria and Kenya, which is annoying because I deselected ‘black’ from my racial preferences. Of the two profiles I responded to, neither responded back.

I have been using the site now on and off for a while now. I had an LDR for six months with a girl from the site, but it didn’t work out, so I am still searching for my ‘forever girl’. I continue to get dozens of likes from African continent girls who are of no interest to me.

15 years ago online dating used to be so much better than this. I was hoping OKC might be an improvement on some of the other money-spinning rubbish out there. All I can say is that it is one of the least worst.

  • Scammers and morally bankrupt company

This company has become the pinnacle of greed, immoral practises, duping customers. This platform is riddled with fake profiles and they don’t act on cleaning those even after reporting them. The only times your inbox is full is whenever your subscription expires and suddenly an army of fake profiles swarm your inbox making you believe to pay for an additional time. Every time my subscription renews there is a technical glitch and they demote my profile to a non paying member in-spite of my account getting charged. I have to connect to the super late technical staff only through emails. Until this time, they had fixed my issue. But this time they even declined to fix it as they mentioned that I bought my subscription through the App Store and not through their website. I argued I have already paid for the subscription and need my services restored. They flatly refused and asked to reach out to Apple company. I reached out to Apple to find a resolution and after two months of emails and calls they refunded but guess what. They refunded from the time when I asked for the refund while conveniently ignoring that the services haven’t been working since day one of the subscription renewal. If they had asked me for the proof I would have happily provided them with the screenshots and the email communication but they are ready to indulge in unethical and corrupt practices. You should be ashamed of yourself as a company!

  • A good dating app

… but the free version is a little restrictive compared to other dating apps. That’s why I spend less time here.
  • I love the Satisfaction and Accuracy of this

It's been 19 years since my husband's infidelity and the Lord has been faithful. I was directed to contact this professional private investigator on his verified mail (PremiumSpyGlobal @ gmail) who helped me spy on his phone and more, I was enable to spy on his phone remotely and I was so mad at him when I caught him and found out so many things hidden. He was appalled when he knew I already found out his unfaithfulness to our marriage. The next morning he came to me and knelt down to apologize for his wrong doing and promise such will never repeat itself. Needless to say, the pain was unbearable, but the Lord carried me and spoke gently to me. The first whisper to me from the Holy Spirit was a question, "do you love him (referring to my husband? Initially I could only answer with a heavy sigh until He asked a third time and I responded, "yes." From that time forward the Lord promised that he would do a new thing (Isaiah 43:18-19). The Lord relocated us to a new state and we struggled through the pain together with the Lord as the three-fold cord that brought healing and newness of life to our relationship. I had to position myself to hear and to obey God's voice and to ignore my flesh that cried out for revenge. Since. It was difficult to shut out the worldly counsel and the other voices. I look back and marvel at His amazing grace and mercy.

  • Gone downhill.

Here’s what OKcupid does (and also Tinder since they’re both part of that MatchGroup nonsense). The same day that your subscription expires, you have a notification at the bottom of the app saying, Oh! You suddenly have 30 Likes! Pay to see who they are!” It’s like they’re preventing you from knowing this unless you pay. That’s the textbook definition of a scam. Not to mention the amount of fake/bot profiles on this thing is absolutely staggering. There seems to be no screening process. Also, you’d think that once you swiped left on a profile, that would be it. You shouldn’t see them again. But no. Every single profile that you come across just cycles back and you have to do it all over again. So really, it’s just endless, mindless swiping. MatchGroup seems to be that new manager who relocated and comes into your job with this air of superiority and is all business and tries to make changes that are never needed. Nobody likes those managers. This app used to be the top tier dating site, free, where you could meet like-minded people. Now it’s just a bottom of the barrel corporate greed sellout.

UPDATE: As a I was writing this, this app was updating on my phone, and it actually somehow got worse. All of my settings were changed, including preferred age range and location. Now that they’re changed back, those settings are still being ignored. I don’t know what’s going on with you guys, but you must have the cushiest jobs on the planet.

  • Absolutely useless

App is as useless as any of the others. Spamming you with fake profiles and trying to jam you up into paying for features. They’re using bait and switch tactics to swindle you out of your money. They have also paid to have my reviews removed 4x now. Will keep posting. Have it saved… :) Have paid for this app. Let me just say, It’s filled with 1-3’s, unhealthy/obese. That think they can do better than a 7. There’s the occasional 7-10 but its rare. App is not worth paying for in the slightest. You might have better luck with younger women 20-25. But most of them use pronouns, which is an automatic no for me personally. No likes in over 3 weeks now WITH PREMIUM. The apps questions are currently unavailable to me. The functionality is not there. Which is a big part of this apps selling point. If you want a lot of women to like your profile. You’ll pretty much have to be fit and half naked. This was tested out by myself. EDIT: Contacted customer support because my profile is bugged out. I paid 50$, I should at least have a prompt reply. But it’s been weeks and I haven’t heard a thing. My profile is still messed up. Not happy at all with service. EDIT 2: It has been a month since I have contacted customer service. I haven’t received any contact back. My app is still broken and my PAID MEMBERSHIP is almost up. Total waste of 50$. DO NOT BUY MEMBERSHIP HERE
