Not a bad game overall, but I give this one star because of the complete lack of integration between pausing and the game. If I exit the game, rather than it resuming where I left it off at, it decides to crash. Terrible. Please update to fix.Nomsdjx

Great game, little short
Really, really enjoy the game. For .99 it's an amazing value. My biggest complaint would be that the campaign was painfully short. Endless is a ton of fun as is multi-player (when you can find an opponent). Would love to see some more campaign content and a campaign leaderboard as well.
Glad to see some of the advancements/fixes in the upcomming update and hope to see many more.
As another review mentioned, would love to see the ability to upgrade cannons. Perhaps a trade mechanism where you can scrap previously placed cannons for a portion of the points used to place them. Keep up the good work!Show lessJWR22

Very good; "rebuild" controls need revision
As a huge fan of Rampart back in the day, I was very excited when a friend recommended Zen Wars as a modern-day equivalent. All the old features are there, and so are a few new, innovative ones. If you like Rampart, you'll love this game and you should buy it now.
The rest of this review is an open letter to the designers. Change the interface for block placement during the rebuild phase. Here's why:
(1) The way it is now, to move the block I have to put my finger right on top of it; then I can't see where I'm putting it.
(2) The "rotate a dial" to rotate the block technique is cumbersome and unnecessary. I don't need that kind of rotational accuracy when my only options are rotate 90 degrees clockwise and rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise. Please replace the dial with two buttons.
(3) While we're on the subject, place the buttons over in a corner within an area I can use just for moving the block in question. The rest of the screen can be for moving my view of my empire.
Once these changes are made (or their equivalent), the challenge will shift from "working the controls" to "strategically placing blocks to beat the clock," which is as it should be.

Fun game
I think it's great so far. Easy to pick up and play in-between meetings. I like the humor and creative story. The game play is fun and challenging yet simple. Can't wait to finish it.TrinityH
