Better than Iphones own calendar

This app is better than the calendar that comes on the iphone.
Update: I still like the app, but in whenever you add an event that has multiple words, it will delete the first word from the event title and place it in the “location”.
Update: the developer contacted me with a settings solution (turning off location detection), and that worked! Very satisfied with the reply, solution, and the app.

When you type into the Quick Add field the app tries intelligently to detect a Title, Location/Name, Start and End Time for the new event. An icon to the Left of the color bar, will appear whenever a location/name has been detected. If you do not want that text transferred into the location field of the event then you can tap on that icon and the text will be toggled back into the event’s title. There is also a preference option to turn Quick Add Auto detection off. Go to the app's "Main Menu" > "Settings" > "Event” screen. You will see the "Quick Add - Time Detection" and the "Quick Add - Location Detection". With this off the location/name will still be detected, but it will not be automatically put into the location field of the event. If you do want it moved, you can still tap the small icon that appears to the right of the event bar. We continue to improve the Quick Add intelligence with each new update. The new iOS app update we are currently working on has a number of improvements. It will be arable to download next month. Personalised Calendar Supremo!

Great app that I use everyday. The only calendar I've found that I can personalise the start day for the week. My work week starts on a Saturday and it has been ridiculously inconvenient to use standard calendars that seem to always start on a Sunday. Sometimes it is possible to find a calendar starting on a Monday, but this app allows me to fully personalise by making Saturday my start day. This alone makes it worth the price to me but there are many more options and choices that make this calendar my go-to app. I can fully recommend this app, it has worked brilliantly for me for years and years.

BIG RIP OFF

Do not buy this calendar I purchased it for both my iPhone and iPad and when I purchased the app in 2019 it wasn’t listed a requiring a yearly fee it was a listed one time and done purchase. Having purchased the app for a one time fee I had no issues with having access to the calendar in 2019, 2020, & 2021. However, they decided to get greedy and changed the rules they are now requiring me to buy it again to have access to the calendar. You are better off buying a calendar app that doesn’t look for anyway it can rip you off to stuff their pockets. I will be filing a complaint with Apple as you shouldn’t be made to buy an app that you have already purchased. The app will now be deleted from my devices and I will never buy another app from this company. I will also warn my family, friends, coworkers, and others to not buy apps from this company!

Review

I haven’t written a review in a while but I feel like I should write this one. I think pocketLife has some nice features. The fact it they can’t make it work properly for some features that they have which makes it very annoying. And a huge one for me is when he gets towards the later part of the year if you happen to want to put something on your calendar for the following year you have to go in by the calendar for the following year, or 4 or five months before the end of the year because it won’t let you put anything on next year’s calendar without the purchase again. I’m actively Little by little switching my stuff over to Google Calendar because that really works the best and gives you the most options. It’s also very easy to use

Handy, but crowded

Very handy app, but cannot for the life of me work out how to de-sync the birthday of every single person I have ever been a Facebook friend with. Unticked the birthday calendar and they’re all still there. It crowds everything out and cannot see the important stuff.

Response from developer

When you press the calendars icon button in the top center of our app's display, you are displayed a list of all your available calendars. You can scroll down that list and tick the calendars  that you want displayed in the app. Whichever calendar contains all these unwanted birthday events, you need to untick it. Change that is frustrating App

I have used this app for quite a few years. I got it because I couldn't see the IOS calendar and I wanted to see appointments at a glance. It used to be perfect. Now, when you enter the info for an appointment on the top line, it splits the words between the info and location line and you lose most of the information. I don’t usually put anything on the location line. Once the app messes up my entry it takes too much effort to delete and retype where you want it. Shopping for a new app. Disappointed.

Update: developer got back to me quickly. Followed instructions to fix the issue. It’s back where I remember it. Thanks.

Love app but..

I have used this app for years and it it great. This year 2022 you have changed the location bit and when you type in to the event the first word goes into the location drives me mad as then I have to delete the word from location and retype it into the event section. Sometimes when I type in a unit address like 2/456 it will not recognize the address and default to 456 or sometimes takes me to street address 2 and not 456. Please fix this. This was a quick easy calendar that you put event, location, set time and alert worked beautifully. But with the first word going into the location area I find that most annoying. Thank you

It’s decent however

It’s a good calendar app however I just don’t see how it’s so special that I have to become a slave to them & pay £4.49 every year. It does what every other calendar does with a few exceptions still does not warrant a fee like that to be paid every year. With a fee like that, I would expect regular updates and improvements on the app but have not seen anything. The app is really basic and the layout is not too clever, looks a bit boring. The only good thing is you can customise colour and add the whole month or two weeks as a widget to Home Screen so you can see upcoming events without opening the app. Other then that, it’s not worth the money.

We felt the cost structure was good value for an app users could rely on to plan their lives and that would be kept up to date with Apples evolving software and hardware, this has proved to be the case. Our many thousands of long term users all over the world know they can trust us with their life. We regularly review our pricing to ensure we cover our costs in developing and maintaining the app so it is sustainable long term and our users know they can rely on it. We also genuinely want our users to feel they are getting great value for money for an app they use multiple times everyday. Every update we improve the app. Listening to feedback and adding the most requested new features. Great app- can’t do without it.

When I went from my iPad to iPhone this app was one of the first apps I downloaded. Very easy interface and I love that you can customise everything. I even noticed the add photo at the bottom. There is one thing I would like to have is a way to upload a document especially if it’s a hospital appointment. Going to hospital and being in a wheelchair as well made getting my folder out is a nightmare. It would have helped enormously. Or add another photo so I can at least have the first page to hand!

On the second review, I’ve knocked off a couple of stars. This is due to in setting you can set the time intervals to 1,3,5, etc. I’m quite busy and I want 1 minute intervals. After doing a couple of events it automatically goes back to 5 min intervals. It’s so annoying.

What a help!

I was trying to keep up with my schedule and my husband’s plus 2 daughters and monthly puppy medicine for 5 dogs. Now I’m retired and need it even more......now there is even more to keep up with vacations, doctor appointments, church functions, meeting friends for breakfast or lunch and last but not lease my husbands still works some for the company he retired from and a side job doing special projects for another company. I downloaded this app because it can be shared. Now my husband has a copy on his phone, there’s a copy on my phone and my iPad so I don’t have to stop what I’m doing when he asks what are we doing on such and such a date or did I work last any last week, or when are we supposed to meet the “Jones?” Now I can keep up with birthdays, deaths, holidays, special events and I even set up colors to see at a glance what’s coming up. I recommend it for anyone with a busy family, I wish I’d had it when my girls were younger.
