Probably for just the serious walker

We used to use iFootpath. The app was great for finding walks local to where we were. They were also easy'ish to follow. Now the app has been upgraded to this version, I have to say app is way more complex and less intuitive. Finding walks to dio looks like it could be awesome, however the list feels unmoderated - so finding the walk that's right for you feels like a huge research task that requires you to go into each walk first before you decide whether it is appropriate for you. Something more visual, moderated (so you more easily identify difficulty) etc and ordered (beyond length and name - which are often not descriptive either) would be better. If we were serious walkers, I suspect that we'd love it. However, for the occasional leisure walker, it's not easy. I feel like going back to a book!

Good but a couple of improvements needed

1. I have the yearly OS maps subscription. It would be great if I didn't have to work out which map to download if I select a point on the Great Britain map, I.e it worked out which one it was automatically.

2. Massive bug bear of mine: on the statistics screening if I press start at the beginning of a walk to record my progress, and I accidentally press the stop button there is no warning screen or an "are you sure?" query, it will automatically stop the walk at that point. If you don't press save at that point you will lose your whole walk. If you press the back button you will lose your whole walk because you didn't press save.

Fantastic outdoors app!

Love the product and how easy it's been to download OS maps when I need them. Can't say enough good things.

Easily the Best

I've tried many outdoors navigation apps and keep finding myself coming back to this one. I use it all the time when I'm biking and hiking trips with friends. If you like OS maps, theres also an in app option for a subscription which I love. Highly recommended. Thank you for the great app!

Simply amazing

A must have for anyone who loves the outdoors! Having no network is never an issue with this app and it has completely changed my outdoor experiences!

Amazing what you can do with this on the iPhone

We're just back from three weeks in the UK and one week of that in the Lake District. I had the Explorer Map on my iPhone and I used it a lot. I found that it was also useful to have the waterproof paper map to see things in the large (very hard to use the iPhone in driving rain), but having the map on the phone with the GPS was very helpful.

Very Slow OS map drawing

The latest version seems to have changed the way the OS maps are displayed. Whereas previous versions drew the screen almost instantly the new version takes about 20 seconds on my iPhone 4. Very poor and a retrograde step.

no maps!

for $2.99 I thought it would come with maps. at least a little something.

Nope! You're paying $2.99 so you can buy maps for $10+

Waste of time and money!

I downloaded this app in preparation
For our UK holiday in the Northumberland area. Then paid again
For a 1:25000 Northumberland map.
After removing and re- download
Of this map it still would not work properly, only portions of the 1/25000
Map appears.I have tried uninstalling
The whole app and re- downloads
4 times now and this does not rectify
The problems,I have contacted this app
Support site and hope they will
Provide me with a solution to make
It work.
