Exactly what I need!
This is a powerful database tool that I have been using every day in my job for the last six months.
It has been bullet proof for me. The more I use it, the more I like it. Still finding creative ways to use it to make my work flow easier and smarter.

About a year ago I sent an email to Dave H. asking for two things. CSV output/input to allow using Numbers or Pages as a value added feature, and an option for iCloud integration. The latest revision adds CSV output, and app file sharing with apps like Numbers, Dropbox, Cubby, and Files Connect. Although there is no iCloud sync at present, I still hope to see that as an option in the future. That said, what has been added enables HanDBase to more than compete with any of the other DB apps on the App Store. It is MUCH more functional that ANY other DB app available, and the forms feature is second to none. There are no other relational DB apps on the App Store with this one's ease of use. Excellent barcode scanner!
I've been a long time user - since Palm Pilot days and have been generally happy with the capabilities but have not stretched to product - just use it for general databases. I had a project which required the collection of a large number of serial numbers from equipment with barcodes. I tried several dedicated barcode scanner apps on the iPad without much success. I finally decided to check to see if HanDBase had any scanner capability and after a few minutes on the DDH forums, found out how to create a database with fields populated by the built in scanner. The database suits my purpose and the scanner is very accurate and reliable. The ability to sync with my Mac and then export the data in CSV allows importing into other systems. This product has a lot of capabilities that are not well publicised but fortunately the forums are really helpful. If you are looking for a database manager with more than just basic functions, this is definitely worth the money.Show lessRichyRichBda
Wish it would "catch up"
I've been using different versions of this great app for years.... iPad, iPhone, Pocket PC (remember them) and my computer. It is a great app that I use in so many ways all day long. It is easy to create new databases and forms but, THERE IS NO CLOUD. I am shifting from iPad to iPhone and have to constantly email these different databases to myself, and there are several databases tat I use. I've been loyal for a long time but am looking for a new mobile cloud based database. I would pay for an upgraded version rather than move to a different one. We've only just begun...
I can hear the Carpenter's singing "We've Only Just Begun" when I use this app. It has so many possibilities, many capabilities, and I just know it is going to make me much more efficient and productive. I've used it for several months, and still feel that I have barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer.
It can be a little tricky at times, and some of the features are a little difficult to figure out. However, there is good support documentation and message boards that help a lot.
I really would like to see a barcode scanner capability. That would definitely deserve five stars instead of four!Show lessA Gadget
Indispensible app
I have been using HanDBase for over two years now. I'm a field service engineer and use it to track daily work and parts used. Using multiple databases, I track preventative maintenance, laser changes,etc. HanDBase helps turn the ipad into a serious business tool. Also, as a private pilot, I track hobbs and tach time before and after flights. This makes it a breeze to keep up with my log book.Show lessDGK816
Outstanding tech support
The software speaks for itself, but for me it has been the excellent tech support that I have received on more than one occasion. Most recently when one of my databases became corrupted, Brian exchanged numerous emails with me until he was able to resolve the problem and restore my data. Can't Do Without it! Very Useful.
Handbase is very useful for creating databases you need. They can be simple to complex. There is a lot of help available from the developer’s website and other forums that have great information and tips. This app can replace a lot of the other apps that are available. I use it for everything I need to keep records of. It is a real value and you will find a bunch of uses for it. Great app!Show lessDonLip

I have been using HanDBase for several years, from my Palm III days > iPod Touch > iPhone 4. I use it for my "paperwork" in my practice and have had negligible problems updating/transferring my databases to and through the various platforms, and ALL WITH A MAC!!! I received an iPad for Christmas and purchased HanDBase for it and again, no problems. I can now share my databases between my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro, makes my business life so much easier!
