Annoying tracking options
Every time I open the app it cons up with the usual accept or manage tracking options. I set them all off and when you go in next time the legitimate ones have been switched back on as a default. I’m pretty sure this isn’t allowed once you’ve made your choicesSuzukireview

We are sorry you are experiencing an issue with the STV News app. The consent options should only appear on the first load of the app or when we have made an update that requires them. It shouldn't be on every load in the way you have described. We would like to look into this further for you. The news app is certainly among the worst I’ve experienced, can only be viewed in portrait- iPad, reasonably user friendly gui, but an uninspiring app in general. STV Player app IS the worst mainstream app available- riddled with irritating adverts that (as another user mentioned) repeat. Developers, have a look at BBCiPlayer as an object lesson on what an app should be like and how it should work...
Update: still utter rubbish and an insult to Scotland’s great tech knowledge (I work in the IT industry and feel ashamed that a Scottish company could be this bad in the field)Show lessStewyB1968

Update: Contacted by developers who took suggestions on board. Can now click region heading and even set a favourite region 👍 Many thanks 😊
Still no ability to go directly to regional sections. There should be the ability to customise the sections and have a default region which opens first. Clicking on region headings at the top of the story should open the region but you have to find a story from a region and go into it before you can then get a hyperlink for a region - not intuitiveShow lessIncompleat

Hate this latest update due solely to the weather section! You can’t get much information anymore. No wind speed and you only get details for the next 24 hours. It used to be my go to app as it was the most accurate but I now go and check elsewhere. Very disappointed.FrecklesFyo

Used this app mainly for weather, found it to be fairly accurate (as much as you can be in Scotland) Liked how app showed percentage of rainfall expected though out the day etc, but with most recent update weather section is very basic with little information….pretty useless actually.

A fantastic improvement on the previous app
It’s such a good uplift that any critique in the new version feels unfair. That being said, I think you need a footer on your news articles. They currently just stop and it feels undefined. Other than that 👏👏Franko76
Caution
This app doesn't make it easy to protect your privacy, there are a large numbers of companies collecting data , and each needs turned off individually. I'm just going to delete it.
