App

Trop de publicité. Google map est efficace et sans ou peu publicité.

Mr Charles

Very good map well done.

Map lacking?!?

Old folk like me like a paper map , easier to read!

Too expensive and free version unusable due to ads

Exactly as above - the paid version is too expensive, and the free version is unusable due to constant and long adverts. Had 4 ads while trying to plan one journey - should have taken seconds.

Very aggressive ads make this app unusable

Ads displayed in this application is super aggressive. After opening the ads for 5 seconds, a full screen un-skippable ads will take over the entire screen. An X button will appear after another 2-3 seconds, but clicking this button only redirect the user to advertiser’s website. Even when users wait until the ads finished playing, they will often time left with a black screen with no way to interact with. I would pay to make this app a bit more usable, but often time I cannot even get to the in app purchase screen. Overall, the app is particularly rage inducing especially when user tries to learn what schedule modifications were under time pressure.

Unusable due to adverts

Great app with map and route planner but unless you want to pay its useless as the constant adverts render it unusable.

Terrible app

I never have left a review in my life, but this app is extremely annoying and terrible. This app makes you watch ads while you are on the fast nyc subway train and it can easily make you miss your stop! It also makes you watch irrelevant things like deodorant ads! My armpits smell just fine! I use great deodorant and I’m rich. Btw I’m actually very rich and this app makes me feel like I’m a peasant. This app used to be so good back in 2012.. unfortunately that’s not the case anymore. The people who created this app and allowed them to put ads in the app should be sued! This app causes people to lose their mind and miss their stop.! F off and take care! YAH bless to All his chosen children of Israel black power

Scammy behaviour

This app has installed a Safari extension to “shop & save” aka steal all your data and sell it.

This is totally unacceptable behaviour

Annoying

As a New Yorker, the idea of paying for a mobile subway map is crazy. I had this app for years (my fault for not deleting it sooner) and it frustrated me from the onset. The free version runs on ads and they pop up continually. As the years progressed, the ads stayed on the screen for longer amounts of time. Additionally, once the ads pops up, you cant navigate out of the ad and back to the map without having to shut down the app and reload it. This is particularly troubling when I’ve needed to map on the fly to catch a coming train. Stupid design. Don’t get hoodwinked into this. This app is a real piece of crap. There are free NYC subway maps that don’t have pop up ads and are easy to use. Out of towners, there are for purchase apps with all the bells and whistles you would need to traverse the city. Get one of those. Stay clear of this.

Response from developer

We encourage customers to email support (Side Menu > About > Support) with any issues as and when they arise so that we can work to address them. Full screen adverts can be closed after 5/6 seconds if they appear, and you shouldn't see another in that session. Alternatively a subscription removes adverts and enables other features.

Better than the official MTA app

EDIT: I have been informed this is not the official MTA app. Apparently, the official MTA app is useless so I take back all my mean comments. I’m really grateful for this one: it gives real time, accurate information.

The app is bigoted against poor people or people who just don’t feel they should have to pay to have real time access to NYCMTA travel information. Welcome to late stage capitalism. Previous review: Whose stupid idea was it to compromise the safety of riders by preventing them access to the map with a screaming ad? It prevents riders from quick access to whether or not an arriving train goes where they want and eliminates privacy. I already paid to ride the train. If the official app of the MTA isn’t going to assist riders unless they pay then it shouldn’t be the official app. Heinous

Response from developer

Hi. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I have to point out that this isn't the official MTA app. We're an independent developer and we rely on ads or subscriptions to maintain and develop the app. Kind regards, Team Mapway
