New version 2024.11.23 won’t let me past the signup for free trial screen on IOS. Previous version at least allowed me to bypass that screen if I turned “unable access off”. Please fix this! I’m getting more and more frustrated with this app.
Terrible & Redundant
Used to be free and fun….now just a huge money grab. New beta update is just removing all things free that must now be paid for. Don’t waste your money. Many groups steal or repurpose postings from EventBrite…which is free to browse. This app is redundant and should be called Money-up as Meetup is long gone.

The Meetup app does for mobile what the Titanic did for cross-Atlantic travel
To say this app is poorly designed and act like that was the main problem would be doing a huge disservice to their exceptionally incompetent dev team. This app seems to stop working every time Apple updates their software and emailing their tech support general results in you getting a reply a week later asking if you can try again using Chrome. You explain for the fourth time that you using the app isn’t the issue, the issue is your group members not being able to sign up for your events. I run two groups with a combined total of over 4000 members. I can exactly go to all of their houses and tell them to try a different browser and maybe they will be able to sign up for the event I am hosting. Though it’s always fun to wait a week to hear back from Meetuo’s tech support only to have them ask if I am signed in to the app or I I know the basics of how to use an app that requires users to log-in. It’s really a bummer as it couod have been a great app but unfortunately their tech support team is a giant iceberg and it’s sinking fast with all of the event hosts scrambling for the life-boats.

No longer able to basic things
This app now forces you to start paying monthly fees just to do some basic things like searching for other people or seeing who is in the group you joined. Ridiculous.
Broken, GREEDY
We all remember the good old days when meetup started, free to use and organize events. Now the pricing is so high it's ridiculous, not to mention how aggressive it is trying to push the subscription by hiding attending user profiles, just to make it super annoying. For shame

MEETUP does serve a purpose in bringing people of like interest together and benefits many. Unfortunately, the app is antiquated and needs serious help. The new ownership has not really thought out the “improvements” made. They are just a MONET GRAB, taking away what members previously had at no cost and now charging HUGE FEES. $6.99 USd/week is atrocious! I have both member (red) app and black (organizer) app and both are terrible Apps to work with. Website is somewhat better, but they are messing with it as well.

“Start a Free Trial” shows up alot. Sorry but trying to monetize this app, the ship sailed on that a long time ago when its been free for users for a LONG time. This app is getting annoying with that pop-up showing up alot.
