  • Used to be a great app! Needs updating!

I've used Next Stop for at least five years and it was accurate to the T with the numbered MTA lines.
I've only stayed on iOS 10 because of NextStop.
Unfortunately, it seized to offer realtime train arrivals just in the last few weeks.
The last update was almost 3 years ago.
I wish the developers updated it and the app worked as it used to.

  • Out of date

This was a decent app but hasn’t been updated in two years so doesn’t have the W and changes along that line.
  • Needs to update the map

I really like this app, I usually rely on it for work since I work different hours & different places everyday as a freelancer. I find the train times pretty accurate for the most part. I mean, if a train is late...that's not the app's fault.

The only thing I will say is that they really need to update the map. I went to check to see if they put the new W & 2nd Ave Q line in, but I noticed that they never updated the added stop to the 7 train by 34th St either. That stop has been there for a couple of years now & there's been talk about the 2nd Ave line & the W for a few years as well, so they definitely had time to prepare for it.

    PLEASE UPDATE THE MAP

  • Very helpful

I use this app a lot to check for any changes or delays and find it to be more informative than google. Also while underground without service it's easy to see routes and stops on the map or train stops list. I tend to use it less for estimated wait times, as it's impossible to get an accurate read on the letter trains and I don't often take the numbered ones. I do wish it was maintained more and reflected new routes or additional stops added to the system since they came out.

  • Great App

It's a great app to have, you can see the delays and changes which helps in avoiding any inconvenience. It also lists stops on each line. I use the nearby function and find it very useful to know what time the trains are arriving. It used to be off by a minute of more but it's been great for the last few months. Plus you have the subway map, which allows you to select each stop and check the timing there as well. 👍🏽

  • Need to update Hudson Yards, but train clock issue is MTA domain, not this app

I think people who are writing these reviews need to be educated as to why we don't yet have time clocks on the letter trains. Generally, off peak hours - MTA's schedule is correct for lettered trains except L and including 7 when in good service.

This app should update for Hudson Yards (was about to give a 4 rating for that but want to counterbalance all of the low ratings that are clueless as to the issues regarding subway time clocks) but for the most part it's a good app. Forgot what I paid for it. Subway time does not have time tables for the lettered trains and this app does

  • Save your money

I bought this app because I thought it would be useful to have the arrival time for my train ahead of time. It was a waste of money.

First, this app is often inaccurate. Second, the nyc subway app (which is free) also gives the arrival times for trains. It is also more accurate and will allow you to see the arrival times for all trains at a particular station as well as get directions from a station to your final destination. This app only shows you the arrival time for the next train and only one train line at a time. If you're at Times Square and want to take the next train out, you have to pick the train line and then Times Square to see the arrival time and then repeat the process for each train. On the other hand, the free nyc subway app will show you all the trains at Times Square and all the arrival times on one screen which makes it soooo much easier to figure out which train to take.

Bottom line, save your money and get the free (better) app.

  • Easily the most useful app on my phone

I've had this app since my iPhone 4 (currently have a 6) and its a shame that I've just gotten around to review this awesome app. I look like a wizard whenever I'm with someone and I can predict when the train is coming because of this app. Arrival times are 95% accurate which is very impressive given how inconsistent the subways are. Highly recommend!

  • Simple app, does what it says.

On some trains I notice it doesn't always come when it says but it's usually by 1-2 minutes behind/ahead of schedule. Now this is obviously not the fault of the app, but the delays that people cause from holding doors open on the train. I take the D/N/Q/B often and those pretty much come when they say they will.

  • Inaccurate arrival times, but good interface

This app shows the same inaccurate times that the MTA lists on their schedule. So really, it’s the MTA’s schedule that has little relationship to reality. Why the MTA can’t implement accurate train tracking for all the lines has been a mystery to me, particularly in this age of GPS, Wifi, cellular data, etc. Anyway, the bottom line is that the arrival times of trains is fairly worthless. But the app has a very well designed interface. I think when the MTA gets their act together (…don’t hold your breath), smart phone transport apps will be great, not barely useful like this one is.
