  • MUST HAVE!!!!

If you live in NYC you should know how much we love our MTA! This app made my life easier on many occasions. It has ETA for trains - and it's spot on and it doesn't even matter if you have service or not - it will still give you the info you need. All the delay alerts were always accurate. Also you can see each and every stop for any line AND on top of it, it'll show you which stopped will be skipped due to whatever circumstances. Love it!!! Thanks guys!!!

  • Time Button removal

As the other reviews state, I was a big user of the future time feature, which has since been removed. This feature allowed me to see if a transfer train would be arriving around the same time as the current train I was on. Since that feature has been removed this app has become just the same as all the other Transit time apps.

If we could at least get a reason or explanation as to the Future Time features removal, or an alternate way to achieve the same functionality, I would consider reevaluating my current rating of the app.

    But until then...

  • Ugly UI changes

Screens have weird transition effects that strain the eye. It looks as if the transitions are broken as one screen overlaps the other and for a second both screens can be seen one on top of the other before the previous screen disappears.

The new dark blue on black menu options are also an eye sore.

The only thing that looks better is the app icon.

As other reviewers have mentioned, you can no longer choose a departure time. I never used this feature before because I also found it weird that you can only view future times on a specific line and not for an entire station in the old app. If they bring back the ability to choose a time, they should have for a specific line and also after clicking the map and selecting a specific station to see all trains.

  • New update kills manual time check for trains

While the new update looks refreshing, it effectively killed the ability to look up the arrival of future trains. Before, you were able to choose any train line and any station and choose a time interval for which you wanted to check for the departure time for a specific train from a specific station. Now, the app will only show the next train scheduled to depart, with no option of checking any future departure times. PLEASE FIX, it was one of the things I commonly used this app for!

  • Sweet

Luckily I live 2 blocks away from the subway, so this app is real useful, and it's accurate, if the train says 10 min. until arrival I toast a bagel, put some cream cheese on and head out the door. Doesn't sound extremely important but it could be the difference between having a good/bad day or being late for work. have been using this for almost 3 years now and never had a problem.

  • Very good but can be better

Another feature should be added where you can customize the actual days and hours instead of just generally morning, afternoon, evening, night. Cause sometimes you make a commute only from 8 am and want no notifications before that time or after a certain time or your commute is only monday-thursday. It would be the notifications less annoying

  • Surprisingly Accurate, Great Layout

The new real time subway schedule is surprisingly accurate and the user interface is easy to navigate. They recently fixed a bug that caused location services to be running in the background.

The favorite lines for certain days/time periods is especially handy when looking for a quick update.
  • You're an idiot if you think your train is always going to show up on time

I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't understand that this app is providing you the time the next subway will arrive based on the MTA's schedule - yes the MTA actually has a schedule. The fact that there will be plenty occasions that your subway doesn't show up when the app says so is not the fault of the app. It's the fault of the MTA - big surprise right? When does the MTA do anything wrong?

That being said, it's nice to see the subway schedule but you can't completely rely on the train being on time. Also, the alerts and advisories section is extremely helpful. Unfortunately you need to have reception to receive those alerts

  • Flawless

I could not be happier with this purchase! This app works as it's supposed to - it provides times, the subway map, notifications of train delays, and perhaps my favorite feature, the ability to see the stops of each of the subway train. This feature is probably the most useful because you can always check to see which stops the different lines are running - for example an F train delay at Delancey St. would result in that station being grayed for the purpose of understanding that the F train will not stop there on a particular day. Ignore the comments on how the train schedules are never accurate ... give me a break! Since when have NYC buses and trains ever run on their schedule? Never, that's when.

  • Not awful, but not as advertised.

Location services worked once - the first time I used the app. Now it always opens and returns to that location. Have to use the map, which makes it a bit clumsy to use on the run. Not accurate when most needed, after 8 pm, when one wants to judge whether or not one should descend the subway stairs, or flag a cab. Pretty expensive app to have such low function - I hope the developers will improve performance soon - I'll look for updates. Great concept, and when the glitches are gone it will be worth the money.
