  • Awesome chess program

Every level is covered. Great challenge at all levels
  • Great but needs app tuning

The only complaint I have about this app is that it looks like it was made by a web developer in the late 1990s. There is too much visual noise that it looks as if advertisements are a part of the overall design. But then you realize that the app was made like that...on purpose.

Functionality-wise, the app is sound. I appreciate how many options there are for boards. But then I wish you could also pick and choose the black squares, the white squares, and each piece, etc... Just more granular options instead of preconfigured ones.

Categorized menus would help it to have a more simple user interface.

  • Has some bugs

So I recently got this game so I can learn to play chess and it started out well then when I finally understood the concept and started getting closer to winning but not quite there. but in those matches it froze and I refreshed the app and it went to my last round I played. Normally it would leave me where I was left of but it didn't and that was sure win I had a rook and queen left with my king of course it really got me disappointed because that would have been my first win ever but it ruined me. Hopefully you'll see this and fix this bug but all in all this is a great chess app that has potential.

  • Remarkable Chess Engine

This is perhaps the best chess engine available to mobile devices today.
It also is an indispensable assistant to improving one's game (at least against a computer).
The iPhone interface seems to be improved with this version. The touchscreen seems to have more accurate sensitivity. In the past unintentional moves were common because of the touchscreen.
This app well proves it's worth. For learning and improving there is the option to take back an unintended move but then the app won't score that game for rating purposes. Still, this feature is fantastic for exploring variations. One can even go to the notations and set the board to a particular point in the game and explore a multitude of variations from there. The possibilities are virtually endless.

  • Good app

App is great over all and I was happy that I found an app with many settings and great graphics! App works great overall, But the app repeatedly failed when I was simply trying to click through the different styles of boards an pawns. I have completed many games but while I was playing (on 3 different occasions) the game randomly decided halfway through the game that I was no longer going to be the white pawns, I was now the black ones and was no longer able to move the white pawns (that were still on my end) I didn't not turn the board or anything the only common variable was in these three particular games I had pushed the undo option before this happened

  • Chess review

Probably the best chess app I have played,
Only con is not being able to play multiplayer.
  • Very, very awesome

Has many great features to help you learn and a very strong CPU to play against. It's so powerful, I do have the occasional crash.
  • Practice--fun! Teaching--not so much!

I really like this chess game. It would be nice if it had smashing animation features, but it still, it has a lot to offer...such as, a lot of angles, skins, and chess pieces to choose from. I love the hint button, but I wish it would explain why I should chose to move there. Also, it would be nice if it had a highlight option to see all possible moves for that one piece to move. (It has a teaching mode but there are too many arrows and I didn't care for it.) Its not much of a teacher, but it does make practice fun and helps you to better your skills. I wish it would teach me strategy, and explain strategic moves to help me become a better player.

  • Annoying pop-up ads

I've written in another review how the ads pop-up before your first move, now is gotten worst. It used to be one ad now there are about two or three. You will eventually click on the ad and it will take you away from the game and into the App Store. They you'll have to log out and log in again but a little more carefully not to click on an ad from a game you are not remotely interested in - or may be you are. Other than that the game is excellent, realistic table graphic and levels if competition. You can play against the machine with or without assistance, you can play with a friend or a stranger through Game Center.

  • Great Chess app

This is one of the best chess app on the store. Not only does it allow you to play chess with the A.I and verse different people online, it gives you a whole lots of modes (a example would be training mode). In short, this is a really great chess app, and I recommend this to chess players and people who want to become chess players.
