  • well

This toy has huge potential, but lot's to improve, for example it is not clear will be samples synchronise as well as a duration of each sample? And most important thing in my opinion is that you have 4 loop boxes where you can set 4 different samples, this is far not enough to create a proper track or mix it well.. 4x4=16 samples you can play with in real time.. That's not serious guys. Also would be nice to see vsti's in futher updates! Some lack of instruments, but like I've said very big potential to it will become professional tool. Get this app, you won't regret!

  • NOT "crap" – plus how to use / how to import

Have experienced NONE of what Congas Jones claims here, this is a perfectly behaved and very usable app. I note that the other app he recommends was actually released same day as his bad review of this one, makes me wonder if his is one of those 'planted' reviews to try to divert people....... I say Reactable is worth a try and I suggest you make your own mind up, don't be trolled by suspicious rants!
PS There IS an online manual available via their website, also a page explaining HOW to load your own sound files so ignore those who say there are no instructions or no way to import your own sounds.

  • Can't wait for updates!

How cool is it to visual edit and touch your beats. I could spend hours with this for pure entertainment, but could also see how it could be an incredibly useful tool or instrument. I'm hoping for a few updates / abilities such as saving tracks, and letting the user decide the limits to the number of whatever objects available. Some touch gesture aspects need to be improved, like the double-tap-move finger to rotate; It would be great to use the normal two-finger-pinch-to-rotate instead.

  • Very fun. Needs more.

Great start, but we need to be able to use more than just two sampleplays and two sequencers. Unless there is a way to do this and I have not figured it out yet. Which brings me to my next point, how about some video tutorials? I really like the sounds that come with the program but it needs more drums.

  • Incredible

About a year ago I helped build a reactable with a friend and it was incredible. I never thought i could ever experience that kind of excitement and tactile movement/manipulation of sound. Well this app is amazing, they really put allot of thought into it and it works like the real thing if not better. Extremely well conceived app. Thank you.

  • RIP OFF!!!

After having played around some more with this, I've completely changed my 5 star rating to a 2 star one. I was far too rash. The app crashes often upon clicking the menu button. The limitations to creativity are apalling; I don't see how I'm able to create anything decent with only 2 oscillators and sequencers at any given time. It might even be possible, if I could sample an instrument to then be used as a loop, of which 4 are allowed at any time. But you can't, and for that matter, you can't save an export a session either, making this app even more useless and time wasting. This is absolutely dreadful. I only gave it a second star because of the excellent concept. But as it stands, unless this app gets a major makeover, it's a terrible waste of money. Be warned!

  • Brink of greatness...

NOTE to "Not Sure": the limit to the # of modules probably was limited for performance and space reasons. Not only would 30 modules be impossible to effectively manipulate, your device would freeze up, or burst into flames!! Think about it.

The FTP site works fine. Go into the app options, enable the in-app server, then go to your desktop and log in to that address w/ your browser. Your iPad / iPhone must be connected to the SAME wireless network.

I would like to see easier registration on the Reactable homepage, for the purposes of forum use and documentation DL.
I'd also like to see cooperation w/ the AudioCopy / AudioPaste format, so I can work on rhythms in Beatmaker or Thumbjam, then simply paste them over to Reactable for full on twiddling!!

Limitless possibilities w/ this app, for a measly $10. Keep at those updates!

  • Exciting future!

To me this app represents an exciting new direction in music creativity. I look forward to working with this and watching it evolve. Thanks for creating this ;)
  • Please add play in the background

Amazing App! Great potential, but could really use Multi-tasking for sound to play in the background...if I get a call the sound shuts off and I have to totally restate the App.
  • Needs work

I want to like this app but there is no way to load your own samples. The http// address they give you doesn't work, also there is no forum or customer support. They also should have made videos showing you how to do stuff. Cmon guys 10 bucks is way too much money if you're not going to have any sort of support!!!
