  • People just don't know what decibels are

People please read up on decibels, Talking at standard level is about 60db a normal silent room is about 30db. The only place I've ever encountered 0db is an anechoic chamber (it was really strange).
You measure Db's @ 1 metre distance so if you talk straight into the mic it's not going to be measured right.

  • Works nicely

It seems that ppl rating this app low don't know how the decibel scale works.
Or that their iPod touch headphones aren't microphones...
Would have been nice to have a log or digital readout.
  • Works well!

It works well. Very simple. Would love to be able to calibrate though! I'm going to test It Next to a professional meter to see how accurate it is!
  • Cool

It works, not sure how accurate it actually is, but with a little investigation I'm sure I'll find out, 3 stars. Needs a list of deci readings in app itself like the description has in store.
  • Great

Simple, and free. Does tell you the noise level in db. Just get it.
  • Good little app!! Finally!

Works well, I'm not an audiophile but this picked me up breathing from half a meter away. Very nice analogue readout. Can't comment in accuracy. Give it a go.
  • Amusing (beta version?)

I know it's not accurate but it's fun to find out the approximate decibel level of the room you are in (apparently my fan is a constant 50dB.

I might have downloaded a beta version though as there weren't any obtrusive adverts, nor other information, even about the author (not a complaint, just an observation). :)
