Nice concept, but unreliable !
Great concept, and pretty good interface. Although the methods are a bit clunky, it's nice to be able to refine/adjust the anchor position after settling into an anchorage. HOWEVER, the app crashes (freezes) after about 10 hours of operation... rather dangerous if you are relying on getting a drift alert which never happens. I don't use this one any more, but given the low price it was fun having a play with it. The ChrisParsons app is more reliable, but unfortunately doesn't have the position adjust, so you have to get it right first time.

Hmmm...
I have to admit I was surprised to find I was dragging my anchor and had drifted outside the 10m radius twice in ten minutes, especially as I was testing it whilst sitting on a park bench...
best anchor watch app on iphone
fantastic app! no other anchor watch or geofencing app for the iphone can raise an automatic alarm without constantly sending enormous amounts of data to some external server web site. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Five stars, thanks!
Anchor watch 1.1.3
Well, being a Captain and owning a new iphone 4, l was a bit sceptical about just how good this was going to be. I have anchor alarms on my more expensive GPS`s in the wheelhouse. Was on a pick today on stand bye to a barge in the Gas & OIl business.
l set the Anchor Watch on 20.6m (+/- 14.5m) and it did all the right things with the accuracy of the two GPS`s to compare it with. SO I AM IMPRESSED WITH A LITTLE HAND HELD ANCHOR WATCH.You can be in the bunk and if you drag you are awoken straight away with a loud alarm noise if you drift outside the area you have set........
Its great. Stoked !!!!!

1.1.2 has a bug in the radius - wait for the next version
The new developments are very welcome but the bug on the radar radius screen is now a very real problem. You can allegedly increase the swing radius to 200 meters, but it looks to be out by a factor of 10 i.e. it is only about 20m! So not a lot use as you would need to be in shallow water with a short scope for this to have a chance.
I would still like the ability to move the place on screen where you dropped the anchor.
I'm looking forward to version 1.1.3, in fairness to the guys they are pushing the fixes out fairly promptly.
