Great Effort
Great effort, but the tons of bugs and rough quality render it almost unplayable. I will anxiously await a fixed version to up my rating. In the meantime, I am already too frustrated from fighting it to enjoy it.

Currently the best artillery style games on iPad are

- Hedgewars
I was bitterly disappointed by worms for iPad, it was an classic example of style over substance, the original charm and feel of the classic worms games has been lost and the controls aren't intuitive. Along with a minimal amount customisation and shallow gameplay it just doesn't cut it. It looks pretty but it's not fun, that said, the humour has always been top-notch.
iShoot 2 is better, despite only having one tank per player, but even though it has more customisation it's very unfriendly and difficult to get into. I played this much more than I did worms... Still a limited game.
And then there's this game, hedgewars is fantastic. It has the feel and charm of the classic worms games and good humour. The sheer level of customisation on offer here is initially overwhelming, there's far too many features to mention here, but it's fair to say you can create a match exactly the way you want it. Seemingly infinite styles and shapes of maps and weapons keep it interesting and it's good to see the option for not only more than 4 teams but teams consisting of up to 8 hogs... You can even have teams of teams. Every option you wished was in worms for iPad in in here. It's not the prettiest game in as much as there's no cutting edge visuals here, although it is very fun to look at. It's also reassuring to hear feedback from the developers in TouchArcade forums, they're constantly working on updates and there's some very cool features to be added very soon.
If, like me, you loved the original worms games, this is exactly the game for you.

Hedgewars on PC is awesome. I can't put my finger on it but it is a blast to play. Thanks guys for the dual controls in the iPad version! I could play for hours. Terrific game!

Would be great if you could play against someone over Wifi or bluetooth.
The one thing that really annoys me is that It has crashed a few times and I have only had it for one day. Please fix it.

this game makes zero sense. it isnt fun. its confusing, do not buy it.
i have yet to find a suitable game after angry birds and plants vs. zombie.
