The ads mean you skip listings completely. It will jump down the page and there is always a house that gets bumped up without being seen. What a rort when you charge what you do. It freezes. Why can’t you do everything within the app. Needs an overhaul and money spent on it.
More clicks to get the same thing done!
Every time I click on a photo in property listing a range of photos come up, I just want to enlarge the photo I clicked on. Half the time it glitches and keeps reopening a series of photos over and over till I have to close the app. To remove something off my watch list used to be a simple click, now a pop up comes up to click again to remove is, what a waste of time and no reason at all. Change for changes sake, don’t fix what’s not broken!!
Also why not tell us what bugs have been fixed cause I will no longer update in case you come out with another feature I don’t want and am forced to use. Like the above glitch should be fixed but unless you list it in an update, why should I update and hold my breath that a feature I like has been removed or changed for the worse.

Always liked TM but this app ..
I’ve always enjoyed TM but lately this app is having so many issues it’s hard to believe really. Things I’m experiencing - Terribly low quality photos when uploading/viewing in the app (but fine on the PC) - When clicking into some listings, it takes me into what all most seems like an out of app window that isn’t as fluid, seems like older UI, not as user friendly, is always all white(when dark mode has been on) - Several random app crashes as soon as hitting the ‘start listing button’ - When writing/editing in the description box, when putting the curser to the top of the page, the keyboard then pops up moves the page down slightly so you can never see what you’re trying to edit on the top few lines of text. Your auctions don’t have any details on them apart from bids unless going into the actual listing, where’s the over few gone ?? Why would you take that away .. This is highly frustrating. Listing close times randomly changing after editing the listing !? Come on.
I don’t see how an extremely well established company can have such an average performing app these days. Anyway there’s my feedback, please fix these easily fixable problems.. I hope this gets seen. Otherwise great app.

Frustrating new update
Have been using Trademe for years and it’s been great, however this latest update (June ‘24) has removed so many features and lags terribly. It’s impossible to edit categories after listing, and you can’t see any information about the listing without going into it (previously could see views, watchers, bids etc now it’s just blank). Also having issues with not getting push notifications for messages within the app despite them being turned on in settings. Overall very disappointed with the update and will probably be looking for alternatives rather than using it from now on if it’s not changed. If you haven’t already, don’t update it :) The customer service is also increasingly bad, have had an influx of scammers (even when only allowing authenticated buyers) and trademe have been incredibly unhelpful and they don’t do anything about trying to get people to go through with trades. Very frustrating as a seller.

Trade Me Isn’t Trustworthy
I listed my car for sale with them.
I got an email through Trade Me’s OWN SYSTEM, forwarding a message on from someone who was interested in my car.
I interacted with the interested party in good faith - because they’d come through Trade Me - and gave the person my home address and phone number RE the test drive.
When they asked me to go to a website to pay for their background check on the vehicle, I refused.
The next day, I received an automated email from Trade Me telling me: “The message was sent by a scammer, not a genuine Trade Me member… Ngā mihi, Jack.”
Why did their system forward me the message if it wasn’t from a genuine Trade Me member?
Trade Me’s fraud detection system is like a parachute that only opens after you’ve splattered into the ground and died.
I could have had my card details stolen and lost thousand of dollars.
And if I had, do you think anyone at Trade Me would have cared or helped?
Trade Me need to do a lot better.

Doesn’t respect notification preferences
Have promotional notifications turned off, but still get pinged with them. Super scummy.
Update for the worse
Don’t get me wrong, I think this app has been a treat to use so far. However the recent update to the discover tab that constantly deletes recent searches and serves me ads and promotions has made this app really irritating to use. Really don’t appreciate how watched items have been bumped down too.
The ability to file back through a number of past searches was really handy for checking out the latest listing without having to wait for the updated notifications.
I get ads placements are important for the site, but please consider if they’re having the intended affect in such an obnoxious spot.

Reasonable app but still some glaring issues.
Messages feature is a useful idea but poorly implemented. On iPhone, I do not receive any push notifications, badges, or other indications to see messages unless I go into the user profile screen. I have missed many messages for a few days.
Also, get rid of all external adverts. This seems like a petty way for Trademe to earn a bit more cash from your customers. We already pay high fees for listing and selling items. Why would you want adverts to other shops or companies that might entice your customers to shop elsewhere?

Great app but two frustrating things
Absolutely love this app however since the update, as a seller when listing an item of clothing I now have to scroll through all of the clothing labels to choose the label I’m uplisting. Ie if I’m selling a Witchery piece of clothing instead of typing w into the search bar and being taken straight to the w label as it used to do, now since the up date I have to scroll through all the labels each time I’m uplisting an item.
There’s also a glitch that happens when typing out the auction title - I’ll be one word into the title and the curser moves itself onto the next function and I have to stop and move it back to the title to type another word when it will do it again - sometimes it does it 4-5 times and makes typing out an 8 word title take 4-5 times longer than it should.
