Out of date
This app presumably can search using images but does not do so accurately. There is no way of filtering results by material used in the construction of an item nor blocking older, previously viewed or undesirable listings. Also, and most importantly, there is no efficient way of reaching the customer service department. Most game apps allow a patron to communicate a concern, report an issue or request a review however TM could care less! If you cannot find an answer to your query or issue in their Q & A section, you are redirected to an endless loop of frustration. This app is terribly out of date so it’s no wonder more and more people are turning to Facebook Marketplace where it’s free to buy and sell.

Ignores iPadOS default email app
I have the Yahoo email app as my default, running multiple accounts, on both my iPhone and iPad, but if I tap on a seller’s email address on a listing that I won, I have only the choice between ‘Mail’ or ‘GMail’. As I have set the Yahoo app as the default, it is annoying that it does not go to that app for emails. So minus one star.
One thing I also find somewhat inadequate is that if an auction is within 24hrs (?) of closing it reverts to stating how much time is left (stating 12hrs is a bit vague) with no display of the actual CLOSING TIME, as you get if in the browser web page.

Rubbish App
Used to be a great place to sell stuff. Now, especially on the app it’s a bit of a joke. It takes FOREVER to upload photos on our rural wifi, we have no trouble uploading them to Facebook, instagram etc but it takes multiple tries over 5 minutes on trade me. The app always closes if you leave it open on a listing deleting everything that you’ve written. The worst part is the exorbitant success fees. They used to be around 7% for the items that I list, now it’s 12.6%! And for what? I’m the one who’s put the time and effort into producing a good for trade me to take more than 1/8th of it!!! What a joke of a platform. Won’t be using it anymore to sell stuff.

Great buys
Love trade me and it is the GO TO place for me. Can ALWAYS find a bargain and whatever it is you are looking for. Thank you trade me for being there for us Love Trade Me even more as the years have gone by. They are still my GO TO place FIRST before anywhere else. Trade Me makes it affordable to buy items I need in life and at a GREAT price. I love supporting trade me as they have always been there to help me when I needed something for ourselves and our home. When I have had a complaint they sort it out and have been very generous if they have inadvertently made an error. Thank you trade me for being A1++++to deal with every day.

Trademe doesn’t work outside nz
Allow access to trademe outside nz. On holiday trying to look for a house to live on return but the app and website do not work outside of NZ. This needs to be changed
Two Unfixed glaring bugs
It’s a great app that does most things the webpage does but has two *really* annoying bugs that no matter how many times I asked them to be fixed still remain a problem. The first is that when copying bank account details received from a seller you can copy the account details but for some bizarre reason you cannot copy the auction reference number, well not on my iPhone anyway. The other is truly annoying if you like me pay $.25 to set a custom closing time for an auction and at some later time need to edit the auction. For some reason, and the website appears to do this too, the app changes the auction closing time to some other apparently random time. The last time it happened it changed the closing time from 8:30 on a Friday night to 9:30 on a Saturday morning. Every time you edit an auction you have to also check the closing time is what it is what you paid for it to be. Come in TM Dev’s, these should be easy fixes, but they remain this way for ages.

Notification blunder
Was really happy with this app until recently when bidding on a listing. Another person and myself were bidding on a particular auction with 5 minutes until closing. However, after placing a bid the app failed to notify me when another member had outbid mine. Because of this I thought I had won the auction but when I went to check on the listing it had disappeared. 6 minutes later I get a notification saying I had been outbid and upon clicking the listing in my watchlist I find out it had been sold to another member which I wasn’t happy about as I would have continued to bid on the auction. Please fix this!

Some bugs are frustrating
I generally love the app but as a seller trying to create listings on my phone, I seem to have no control over which order the photos appear in. I want to choose which one is the biggest. Sometimes it’s the first photo I tap on. Sometimes it’s the last. Let us choose a main photo. Let us choose to add some more later.
I love the translations, but the “List an item” button says localizationNotFoundValue in Te Reo which has got to be an easy fix. I’ll wait a year and it’s hopefully fixed by then.
