  • No pricing disclosures

The free iOS app is limited to 50 lines of script. That isn’t disclosed anywhere. Keep it in mind before you spend all day reformatting your script to conform with their strict requirements on your pc.
  • App has not been updated in years; no sound for IOS 15

I liked this app for years. But I recently found for iPhone and iPad running IOS 15 no sound plays. You can still load the script and it has the other functionality but won’t play TTS.
  • Great way to learn lines

It is often a challenge to learn lines especially in a long script with many actors. MyLines offers ways to filter out the scenes and characters. You can learn the script by scene, role or line. There is voice capacity. Highlighting is a great option. As a director it has been a great tool to offer to my actors who struggle to learn lines. See my write up of Stage pro as well because that is another great app and I give BIG kudos to the tech support.

  • Game Changer

This app is a true game changer when it comes to ease of use and bang for your buck. If I can use it, anyone can use it. After purchasing, you simply select your script and voila! You can highlight your lines, edit your lines, hide your lines all with a quick tap. Your highlighted script goes anywhere you go on your phone. It is so convenient and much easier than recording an entire play as I’ve had to do with other line learning apps. MyLines is the best! You won’t be sorry!!

  • Can’t Sign In

I’ve tried so many times to log in, I can’t. The app will not let me. I’ve deleted it, tried a new email, confirmed it, but nothing. Every time I try to log into the app, it brings up the pop-up and will not let me sign into my account. I can access it through Google, just not the app.

    Developer Response

Sorry for the delay. Just noticed this post. If you still are having trouble please email info@mylines.com if you need more information on how to correct the log in issue.
  • Don’t waste your time with this app

Seriously, it’s the worst. I just wasted two hours of my life.

    Developer Response

Sorry that you had a bad experience with the app. We are constantly making improvements and it appears that you wanted to use a PDF version of your script which is not supported by the MyLines app
  • Quirky app that is my go-to for years now

In terms of functionality for learning lines, this app is perfect. Gives you lots of options helps you at each stage of memorization. There is a huge learning curve to the interface, yes. And it force closes, yes (although the force closing is very predictable and I’ve never lost any work to it, so I’ve gotten used to it as just that one part where it force closes). But this app has become an indispensable tool of mine. Also I once contacted the developers about somehow only being able to download the free version from the App Store on a new device even though I own the paid version - they were responsive, helpful, easy-going and lovely.

  • Amazing support - excellent app

I’ve used this app for at least six years and love it. There’s nothing out there quite like it and it’s constantly getting improvements. If I ever run into a challenge Randy responds within hours or minutes. If you want to make the challenge of memorization much more efficient, get this app. It’s so nice to be able review lines, run cue to cue, etc. while waiting in line, commuting, sitting at home, just before hitting the stage. Thanks for a great app!

  • Alright

I love the app but recently it keeps crashing. Please fix :(

    Developer Response

Thank you for the crash report. We release bug fixes every quarter.
  • Great tool with great potential

Yes, the interface can be tricky to navigate and, yes, preparing/importing scripts is a bit convoluted, but this app has helped me so much over the last couple years. I usually now just dictate scripts (even lengthy ones) directly into the app... I think of that process as yet another way of studying/learning lines. Then I assign voices and start working. I haven’t tried any other line-learning apps, so can’t compare. One odd thing recently: a few certain words like “it” end up being pronounced “eye tee.” Can’t understand why, but hope that’ll be corrected at some point. Of course, though, even hearing mistakes like that in your cue line actually makes it more memorable, which is the whole point.
