  • Game seems great, but controls are completely stupid.

Okay, well the game is great, but these controls are TERRIBLE. You basically get a circle around each unit when you click on them. This is their movement radius. So, they can move to any point on the edge of this circle. But, to do so, you have to slowly sketch a point to that location. You do it too fast, you have to restart. You can't even go less then your maximum distance (so, if it's a set distance, you can only go that distance, no more, no less. Well, there actually is a way to do this. But it's just as bad and painful as all the other controls).

  • Fun strategy war game

I really enjoyed this strategy title. The graphics and sounds effects really create a unique paper and pencil feel. Good job creating so many options to create a different game every time.

Thanks for the adding the AI to this game. One my favorite war strategy games on the ipad 2.
  • Fantastic game!

What a great, innovative idea! There are tons of games out there, but nothing quite like this. You can really see how the developer has taken the time to create a pretty amazing work of art here. Not to mention it's wickedly fun. I definitely recommend it.
  • Wow.

Although when I did it back in the day, it was spaceships and death stars, this WWII take on the old paper and pencil "flick" game that must've been a staple for generations of children, is just as satisfying. It's got great nostalgic sound effects that take you back to the days when you played the game with your school chums, and a very clean and useable interface.

The only thing really holding this back from 5 stars is single player (it's pass and play, or online), and the dev promises that's coming along with a map editor. The flick mechanism is pretty easy to master with the tutorial, although he could use a tutorial on "short" shots (lift your finger up early after starting a flick). Navigating around obstacles seems to be the trickiest part, but the risk involved is actually part of the fun.

UPDATE: Single player and the map editor *ROCK*. They also made some additions for modding the rules for individual games, in response to conversations on toucharcade forums -> ++stars for a seriously responsive developer! Five stars, all the way!

  • Hidden Gem

This is a brilliant game that thankfully I was turned onto by a friend. I was apprehensive but now I'm grateful that I took the chance. Truly an original idea that is so simple and yet noone was tried before. Elements of a line drawing game but totally turned on it's head. Online play is the bomb! You'll want all your friends to share this with you and they will thank you too.

  • Good idea, poorly executed.

This is a fantastic idea for a game with a unique method of locomotion and a fun aesthetic.

Unfortunately, it suffers from several flaws:

    1. Multiple units act merely as additional lives, but provide marginal tactical advantage as there are no bonuses for flanking, penalties to being outflanked. 2. Elimination of the opponent as the only winning condition creates a disincentive for movement once cover has been obtained. There should be strategic points on the map which can be captured, held and which create an incentive to be aggressive. 3. Alternating turn play is slow and emphasizes the irrelevance of multiple units. Players should have to make their moves/shots independently and have them *executed* simultaneously. This would allow more potential actions per side and make military tactics like suppressive fire and flanking relevant. 4. Needs a full map view and the ability to instant replay the last turn of action. 5. Artillery needs more differentiation from armor.

  • Excellent update of classic paper and pencil games.

If you ever played the pencil and paper version of these games then you need to get this game. The WWII graphics are great. I also used to play space version ( mostly as it was easy to draw), and now since their is no need to do the drawing the WWII weapons add more to the game in having the different weapons and ground to air, air to ground attacks. Now the game is even safe. No more flying pencils. It really is a game worth the three dollars, for such a great game and it is universal too.

  • Fun strategy game

Fun turn based game with a graphical style that reminds me of doodling in class instead of paying attention. Fun challenging gameplay with a decent learning curve. Needs a.i. support or more players though, right now I'm having a hard time finding anyone online to play. Looking forward to future updates!

  • Addictive Old School Fun

I was pleasantly surprised how closely it matched the old-school paper game. It takes time to control your army but this was always true with the original paper game. Wish there was a single player mode and/or more on-line opponents for me to kill! Worth the money and lots of fun. Can't wait to see this game evolve!

  • Fun and easy to play!

I’ve found this game to be a very fun update to an old-school pencil and paper game!

The controls are easy to use and the tutorial walks through the process of using the program. I like music, the graphics and the funnysound effects. I think it’s also great that I can play with a friend using Apple's game center or against someone in person using my phone. Again, a very very fun game!

So stop reading this, and download it!
