  • App needs work

This App is ok for u7-u10 rec. But falls way short when it comes to competitive teams or HS teams (I coach both). For the higher level teams I need stats such as completed passes and turnovers...not whether or not it was a good corner kick. After all a poor corner is really a turnover and a good one is a completed pass or an assist. Steals and tackles would also be valuable stats. Offside should also be in there. Yes, it is a foul but at the end of a match I want to know how many fouls we committed but separately how many (and who) committed offside penalties there were.

It would also be a very nice feature to be able to show or track completed passes by simply dragging my finger Between the players completing passes. Once I lift my finger that player would be credited a turnover.

I hope to see an update soon because there are some nice features but this app is unusable for me in it's current state.

  • Soccer stats

This app does almost everything I need as a coach / stat asst / parent. No longer can a parent catch me off guard at the u7 games and say there son didn't play as much as everyone else. I am taking stats for my son's travel coach and this program sends detail reports so he can analyze the game afterwards.

This is the first app that makes keeping stats fast and easy.

  • Awesome

As a coach with a 20 person roster, this app allows me to keep track of the most basic things like subs, but allows more deailed stats with a simple interface. By far the best game management app that I have used. Nice work adding the score to the dashboard, was my only concern with the previous version.

  • Coach it

Overall it's a good start - some cool features - it would be nice if the inputting of goals, assists etc was a little clearer - you tap the screen but don't see anything happen until you get out of the screen and back in then you see the values added to the goals or assists etc. Also no way to correct an entry that was entered in correctly.

it would be nice to be able to output the summary sheets of the statistics. To an email or a printed version. Great to keep the stats in the software but they aren't any good if you can't share them with the players easily.

  • Good App - a few improvements would make it outstanding

I coach under 10 and under 12 soccer teams, this is far and away the best app I've come across for tracking player lineups, formations, substitutions and player participation.

It really makes it easy to keep one eye on the pitch and one eye on the bench and know that you're not losing track of playing time. I would definitely recommend this app to other coaches. It is really easy to use and useful on the sideline.

There are a few things that would really make this app really outstanding:

1 - allow for additional player information to be included in the team management, most notably the player's number, but contact info would be handy, too.

2 - allow for game stats, including time in, time out, positions played, and any play data, to be kept (by game date) and recalled later. This would allow a coach to look back on a game to see if a player had a bit less playing time, or how much time players spent at different positions. It would be good to still have season cumulative stats, too.

3- from the game dashboard, it would be good to be able to click on a player and have their game history come up, but also their cumulative season history - minutes on, minutes off, positions played and any stats

4 - would be good to have the player number displayed with the name on the pitch diagram on the game dashboard

5 - would be great to be able to enter the schedule of games, perhaps with a link to the calendar app, with time, location, opponent, home or away - clicking on a game should bring up a game dashboard for that date, or if its a game in the past, should bring up game stats

Still a great app even without that stuff. Good job!

  • The Best....

This is without a doubt the best, easiest to use soccer coaching app!! I know I will be changing this to 5 stars when per game stats are trackable.

The developers are so quick to respond and so very nice!! They even sent an email to update me when I was not even expecting it!! So nice to see that they care!

  • Very cool interface, but . . .

    Update since 1.2.2 release:
The sub list management across lineups is a very nice addition and I am pleased to see enhancements are being made. However, the app is still constrained by the inability to pre-plan a full game's worth of substitutions and resultant planned playing time by player. You can build multiple lineups to pre-plan a game, but it's cumbersome because the lineups really aren't linked to one another. That being said, I really like the UI - please keep the enhancements coming!

    Previous version review:
This app is excellent IF, and this is a big IF, IF you exclusively manage your subs on the fly during the game. However, in youth soccer, where you're frequently dealing with a lot of substitutions and need keep playing time fair and need to give players time at different positions, this is very difficult to do without having a preliminary rotation already laid out going in to a game. This app only allows you to stage your next subs, not plan out an entire half or game. You could save multiple line-ups and then just switch to your next lineup at substitution time, but then you lose all the cool features of the app, such as the sub list and the playing time tracking. If they add the ability to pre-plan an entire game (while obviously leaving the capability for real-time adjustments), then this is a 5-star app. The best app I've tried so far for pre-building a game plan is Soccer Dad, but the user interface is not as strong as this one.

  • Needed Items

I have recently purchased the program Coach It Soccer so I can log and track the statistics of my wife’s soccer team. While the program works fluidly there are some things that need to be added.

    - Ability to export data. All the data that is tracked is almost useless if you cannot export it. This could be done by email, dropbox, or some method of syncing.
    - Game clock. When the game clock gets above 60 min it converts to HH:MM:SS format. Set the clock so it stays in MM:SS format. Almost all soccer people would rather look at a clock and say they are in the 82nd minute of the game not they have been playing for 1 hr and 22 min.
    - Allow the user to save stats for different games and save them under different titles.
    - Add the ability for user defined stats. It would be nice to have the ability to track something goofy like turnovers or something else that everyone may find different.
    - Show player-playing time on the stat page.

I think this program has the potential to be very useful it just seems that right now the old pen and paper method is still better. I expected more from an app that cost $9.99.

  • Perfect coaching tool

Coaching both rec and travel teams, this is the perfect tool to prepare game line-ups, keep track of playing time, and record statistics. The recent updates have taken care of a couple of bugs and customer service has been very responsive to my emails. A couple of further updates like downloadable player stats will make this even better.

I could not recommend this app more for coaches that like to plan ahead, keep track of their subs, playing time and player stats. Program even allows you to create your own formations. My players love it as well and it minimizes the questions about when they are going in again and which positions they are going to play. I just say it is all in the iPad and everyone will get plenty of playing time.

Try it, spend a little time practicing with it before a game...I really mean a little time and then have a go. You won't go back to the clipboard and paper method.
