  • Loving so much about this app.

It’s a great app but has a few faults that would be great to fix.
When my partner and I play if we go to the toilet or make a drink it times out on our game and we lose the whole match. Have to start again. We would also like to play a multi player with friends we know and invite.
We need the game to stay stable when we have to answer a call or check a message etc and minimize the app. Then it times out and we have lost yet another match that we were in the middle of. So annoying.
Apart from that it’s a great game and we have so much fun playing cribbage

Hi, glad to hear you are enjoying the game. For the turn limit timer in multiplayer games, you can set that to "none". However, on iOS devices, when you send an app to the background it is required to stop running entirely. That means it must drop the connection. It will try to reconnect when you bring it back up, but the connection on the game servers will not wait forever for you to reconnect.
  • Ads after every hand

Used to be great until developers got greedy now there is an ad after every hand so frustrating so deleted

    Developer Response

Hi, we definitely do NOT have an ad after every hand. You are thinking of a different app. We have only limited advertisements in the free game, and never interrupt the game. This has not changed for many years. If you saw an ad open during a game, it would be a bug in the ad being loaded incorrectly (can happen from time to time) and we would work to block that ad entirely with whatever ad network is responsible for it. You just need to report that ad to us so we can investigate it.
  • Excellent Game. Two rules-based issues though

I love this app. Hands down the best cribbage app in the App Store. There are two rules related issues I have spotted though. The first is that the game sometimes awards a player a point for last card AND a point for a go. I’ve played at least 500 games & have only seen seen this happen when the last card is a jack, paired onto another jack—but, without further knowledge or monitoring, this issue could be more widespread. The second rules issue relates to skunking & double skunking. A player is not deemed skunked if he reaches 90 points flat (and 60 points for double skunking). To my understanding, this is not correct. A player must SURPASS 90 points (i.e., reach 91 points) to avoid a skunking (61 points to avoid a double skunking). I’ve only seen this as it applies to 90 points, as I am yet score a total of 60 points on the dot, but I assume the issue applies in both situations. Overall, this is a GREAT app. Just thought it would be a good idea to make the developers aware of the two rules-based issues I’ve encountered.

Hi, glad to hear you are enjoying the game. I believe you have emailed us with your concerns over these two potential rules issues as well. Although we have never seen this problem, if you see it again please take a screenshot and send it to us for review along with the game log as requested in the email about this, and we will investigate it further with you.
  • Okay app, but some suspicious matches

    Update to response:
Not sure how a random shuffle wouldn’t be the same as a physical deck? What does that even mean? You can cite all of your audits all you want, I’m only giving my experience vs what I see in an in person play and now another app I found, which seems closer to real play. Your single games seem fine, but something “seems” off with competitive match play. Again, good app layout, lot of people clearly like it, but not for me.

    ———

I’m generally inclined to think reviews about fair gameplay are just bitter people not playing well, however I see a trend. Multiplayer games seems okay, sometimes lucky some times not, from hand to hand. The competitive matchmaking seems off though. Where as you see luck shift from hand to hand in regular multiplayer, the competitive match making competition appear to continually grant better cards to one person over the other for an entire round. In the best of 3 series, it seems one player receives way better cards than the other in a round, then at the start of the next round, the “luck” completely flips. It seems rare that there is a true skill competition for an entire match. I see the developer responses noting fair play, but play several competitive matches yourself and decide. I play a lot in person with friends and it’s no where near the randomness in that format. Overall, the app layout is good, but I might try other apps to see how they compare.

Update: Again, happy to discuss any questions any time at support@FullerSystems.com The mention about the difference between a true random shuffle and some experience with a physical deck is simply that many people do not shuffle sufficiently or correctly, often enough to actually produce a true random shuffle. The key difference between classic multiplayer games and the competitive matchmaking games, is simply that the higher skilled players will play more often in the competitive matchmaking system. It really is that simple. Hi, thanks for taking the time to write your review. Let me try to clarify a few points. First, the shuffling, dealing, etc. is identical in all forms of play. Nothing changes based on if you are playing single player against the computer, classic multiplayer games or the competitive matchmaking games. Nothing at all. Second, we don't just claim the game is fair and honest in every respect and using a true random shuffle, we have worked very hard to demonstrate this with clear empirical evidence and published audits as well. Lastly, it is important to note that a true random shuffle is not always the same thing as what you experience with a physical deck of cards and we don't ever claim that this is comparable to that. It is often not for many people. If you would like to discuss any of this further, or have any questions, email us any time at support@FullerSystems.com
  • Surface view

Not been playing long on the service really enjoying the game and stats helps to improve my game.
Looking forward to next level. Although ADS it could be a lot worse as not overwhelming like many games.

  • Fantastic game for cribbage addicts!

Really good free game with 3 different levels of difficulty. Even though there are ads, these do not interrupt gameplay so they’re not a nuisance at all. Rules of the game well explained and player ratings are now available too. First class game - I love it!

  • Amazing for any player, a few suggestions

This app is fantastic for me who is just learning and my friend who are expert players love it too.

One feature that would really help newer players is an option for an explainer of the opponent score or the auto score when playing a single player game. Often it’s unclear how the score was arrived at and if you’re new and trying to practice scoring that would help.

Also there is a scoring bug in single player. When scoring manually and playing the app player sometimes the app player’s score is wrong. It isn’t counting all the potential points. In one case I saw it miss a run. In another it missed a 15 with the flip card. If you click “home” to exit the game and then resume the game the score is correct when you return. So it may be a caching issue or some other session issue.

Hi, thanks for the detailed review! It sounds like you are using the manual counting option, and that does mean that the explanation of the points is only shown if you get the score wrong in that mode. It also means that if you are playing on the lower difficulty levels, you can see the computer opponent sometimes miss some points. That is so the muggins feature has a purpose, and is covered more in the game Help and FAQ. As someone who is still learning the game, I suggest you use the automatic scoring option where it will always show how the hands are scored and the computer is also always scored fully without any muggins options. • Sus player difficulty.

I’ve played cribbage for most of my life, I’ve seen many if not all hands played. The amount of times the “brutal” player difficulty gets hands that are almost statistically impossible to achieve one after another is tiresome. I could be up by 50 and somehow my hand/deal goes ice cold and the CPU gets red hot. The algorithms should never have the CPU come back from 50+ points. Most of the time if someone’s down 20 they aren’t coming back from the game. Especially with 30 points to go and the CPU gets a 20 hand followed by a crib for 18 to somehow come back and win after I go 2 and 2 in my last 3 hands. I’ll be deleting it after this review is done due to the absolute atrocity that is this so called “cribbage game.”

    Developer Response

Hi, thanks for taking the time to write your review. Please know that at all times, the game is using a true random shuffle and never stacking the deck or anything else like that whatsoever. There is no algorithm determining who should win, or come back from being down any certain number of points, or anything like that. That said, there are two things that are unlike playing with a physical deck of cards. First, is that the deck is truly randomized each and every time, while with a physical deck of cards that isn't done as often for many people. Second, and most importantly, the computer opponent is very super human. It calculates every possible outcome of every possible card and potential response, and does so with lightning speed and perfect accuracy. That is very much unlike a human player. If you have any questions of any kind, please feel free to email me any time at support@FullerSystems.com
  • Don’t like the update

Ever since the update I actually play far less games. After playing crib for 50 years do not need help with telling me if it’s a good hand or not. Find the update frustrating and by the time you get to where you can rechallenge the player they have long gone

    Developer Response

Hi, if it is the Hand Grade that you don't like seeing, you can go to the game settings and choose to hide it. When it comes to the end of a multiplayer game, there has always been an end of game prompt, but the update did increase the details shown there. There is still the rematch option available at the same point and time as before. If it is the game speed itself you want faster, then you can also adjust that in the game settings with the Animation Game Speed setting. If it is something else, or I'm misunderstanding you, please email us any time at support@FullerSystems.com
