  • Like the content, but no landscape. Come on Man....

Really like the content, but the lack of not being able to view this in Landscape and some of the other funky navigation brings my rating down.

  • No landscape mode

Really- no landscape mode on iPad Pro. Ridiculous.
  • Some flaws....

The content is great. Takes a bit to download an issue and the interface isn't intuitive, but it's not difficult to manage once you get the hang of it. Personally, I like the in mag video content. My biggest complaint is that it's not fully functional in landscape mode. When a video starts, it will rotate to landscape. When it print only, you're stuck in portrait. Not the way a lot of folks view an iPad. If they give landscape support for articles, I'd give it 5 stars. Until then, this is an average app.

  • Great App!

I really enjoy the Golf Digest App! The iPad version has been great for myself to use! Really surprised at all the negative feedback. Any issue that I have had has been resolved rather quickly. Love the videos and interactive swings you can slow down of tour professionals from multiple angles! I think they do a great job as far as content that is put into the ipad version that makes it tough to put down for me! Did have a minor issue with crashing a while back but it was fixed with and update that was put out. Also, only real complaint I have is that you cannot download the newest issue "in the background", meaning you have to make sure your iPad screen is always lit up and on the download screen within the Golf Digest app to download, other wise it will pause.

Overall, as an avid golfer, this is the most enjoyable magazine within my Newsstand to read! The positives of the app far outweigh the seldom negative problems I have encountered.

  • Outstanding!

Been a long time subscriber to Golf Digest. Started using the App version when it first came out. Not normally given to write reviews, but I'm totally blown away by the negative reviews. I've never had a single problem with this App! This is by far a much superior way to get the most out of the magazine. I never even bother to look at the magazine version anymore. I only wish there was a cheaper option to subscribe to the App version only, since they could save money on printing and shipping. But to be honest, this App is worth every penny of the mag subscription. A very minor issue I have is that it is best to only download using wi-fi which can take about 30 minutes and you can't download in the background, meaning once you start the download you have to make sure your iPad doesn't auto power off and you can't use your iPad while its downloading otherwise the download will automatic pause until you tell it to resume downloading. But the 30 min wait is well worth it. Once downloaded every page, video and special feature works flawlessly every time.

  • Better then the Mag

Golf digest has figured it out. This version is so much better than the magazine. The take advantage of the technology available with cool features like sliders on swing analysis, hear an audio clip of the person giving the tip, out takes of Bubba Watson doing th cover shoot, and many more. I also get the iPad version about a week prior to the the one in my mailbox. There are some frustrations with download time and previously downloaded versions are gone with the new iOS 5, but could be restored. If you already subscribe to the magazine it is a nice addition.

  • Lost all my purchases

The past 5 months of my subscription were fine, until last week. For some reason I am now unable to download the new issues, and I am unable to download already purchased issues.
I have contacted customer service who mentioned there is an upgrade coming out some time soon, however they do not know why. The reply is exactly the same day after day with no clear horizon for a solution.
Now for the fun part: they keep charging my account for the subscription! They refuse to cancel or restore credit to my account. Two charges later, and no issue in my iPad seems quite steep for a magazine that is thinning its issues every month.
Needless to say I am very dissapointed with the product and customer service. Will keep trying to cancel my subscription and hope Apple customer seupport to take some action from a vendor that is charging its customers and not delivering.

  • Fantastic way to read Golf Digest!

I love reading Golf Digest on my iPad. I get the print version at home, but I find myself almost exclusively reading the electronic version. They are really starting to think outside the box and give readers an experience that would be impossible to replicate in print. The navigation is intuitive and easy, although I would like to see a way to bookmark articles. The "Muscles in Motion" interactive animation from the September 2011 issue is just one great example of experiencing this information in a new way. I can't wait to see how this develops. Kudos to Golf Magazine and Condé Nast!

  • Garbage

Don't waste your time. Installed a few months ago and it didn't work, thought they would update to fix but obviously they have no clue. Still doesn't work. Constantly getting server connection problems when trying to download an issue. You would think a company that large (Conde Nast) could hire someone who knows what they're doing.

Edit: I've been trying all evening to download just one issue and it keeps stopping after a couple minutes. The only solution I've found is to close it and restart and try again. It does work in increments and will eventually download, but takes entirely too long.
On a positive note, once I finally was able to view the digital issue, it is impressive. Embeded video and other interactive media makes it very promising and I hope they can fix the issues in an upcoming update.

  • Pleased

Have used for several weeks now and works just as expected. One glitch was I had to return to home page when leaving to avoid crash everyone hates... If you get stuck in this mode then quickly hit the home icon in upper left corner to get to home page before shut down.... As said before... This app Allows easy access with my iPad 2 using WiFi. Using current subscription gives several past months available for download, no added cost. Magazine looks great and better functionality than the hardcopy... Thanks Golf Digest.
