  • Amazing!

Some folks have complained about not being able to activate the app even with a current print subscription...you need to register with your subscriber # vice using your name and address. This is truly a first-class app. The videos and interactive segments are very well done and the iPad version of the magazine is identical to the print edition. You do need wifi in order to download each issue in a reasonable amount of time...the August issue took about 5 minutes to download and install. A must have for all Golf Digest loyalists. 5 star quality!!

  • Works just fine for current subscriber!

Im not sure why some people are having issues with this but it worked perfectly for me. I installed the app, put in my information, and created an account. After signing in with my new account name and password i was able to download the issues with no problem. At first the subscribe button was the only option but about 30 seconds later it disappeared and an install button appeared. If i had one complaint about this it would be the large 400+MB per issue downloads. That seems rather high to me. Other than that this app is awesome!

  • Help out us older folks please!

I am a current subscriber and was thrilled that one of the major magazines that I get was letting subscribers download the e-version for free unlike so many others. Worked fine for me right off. Don't know why others are having so much difficulties.

But my biggest complaint is, my eyes are not as strong as they use to be, which is one of the reasons I bought and iPad, so I can pinch and resize pages and text so in don't have to wear glasses. Glasses weaken your vision even more. But on this version you can not zoom in and you can not resize the text like you can on other publication apps, like the New York Times, or USA Today. Come on guys! Not all of us are young and have 20-20 vision!

  • Wow!

This is a truly impressive app. It's not just another way to read the magazine, it's a whole new experience. I loved the ability to control example swings so that I could actually SEE what the teachers were saying in their audio descriptions. By slowing them down and stopping at critical points I was able to get a great feel for what was actually going on. I spent much more time with the online version than I did with the printed version that I had already read.

The only suggestion I would make is to use both audio channels for audio content so that you get it in both ears.

This provides exactly the sort of added value that I would hope to get in an online edition and is almost certainly the only way that I'll view the magazine in the future.

I also had none of the problems reported by others and I am a current subscriber.

  • Golf Digest App

I don't have a print subscription so I don't have a problem activating it. But what I do have a problem with are the user interface and the app itself(downloading purpose)

    1. User interface: you swipe left and right to go through diffferent articles but go up and down to read the article? I just didn't like that setup. I rather it be like Zinio where you just browse left and right or at least gives you an option to do that. I miss the zinio function of zooming in on the page(to get bigger font). The UI is not user friendly for me.

    2. Downloading issues: Each magazine is quite large in size. I currently live in China and don't have the fastest internet connection(its really slow when linked to foreign websites) Takes a very long time to download probably due to the videos. But download would be paused if I left the App to do something else or if the ipad goes to sleep the download is again paused. Which I had to turn it to never auto lock and leave it up for downloading all night to get a magazine.
