PhotoSync took away feature even though I paid for pro subscription

I just subscribed to the PhotoSync pro subscription a few days ago as I was happy with how well the app was able to copy photos from my phone to the files directory on my phone.

Before doing so I tested on a device without any PhotoSync plan that I was able to run the save latest photos shortcut when my device was plugged into power. This shortcut successfully ran, but prompted which type of photo quality I wanted to use. I bought the pro subscription lifetime which states “Transfer photos in full size quality + get current feature set - unlimited.” At that time, the current feature set included uploading latest photos via iOS shortcut.

Today, however the PhotoSync app has now moved the save latest photos shortcut into the premium category, when it wasn’t listed there days before, and the shortcut worked perfectly fine 2 days ago. I would like this behavior restored to my pro subscription as it was part of the “current feature set” that was advertised when I purchased it. Please resolve this PhotoSync, the app itself works well!

Thanks for your feedback: - The Free and Pro version includes the Shortcuts "Send Last" and "Receive". - The Premium version adds the Shortcuts "Send New", "Autotransfer", "Send Clipboard" and Camera We just tested the behavior after Pro is purchased, and the "Send Last" Shortcut still works and does not prompt for Premium. "Send New" prompts for Premium in both the Free and Pro versions. However, Shortcut implementations are highly iOS version-specific. It's certainly not our intention to take away any features. If you have a moment, could you please write a quick email to support@photosync-app.com and include the iOS version you are using? We are really interested in reproducing the issue and finding a solution for your case.

Not working consistently

I used to love this app and it worked like a treat. But it asked me to do an update and after that it is only working about half of the time. Same device, same PC, same network. When it fails it says the computer can’t be found, even though it found it the day before. I contacted customer support but nobody got back to me. I’m pretty close to ditching it.

Regarding your issues: 1) Auto Detection issues ("Computer can't be found") are usually network related. Can you please restart your Wi-Fi router once? This fixes network related issues in many cases. 2) Can you please install the latest update for the Windows Companion, which has some fixes for auto detection. Issue with missing metadata for videos after updating to iOS 18

UPDATE: It seems any video taken with the default iOS camera app will have its metadata removed after it is transferred to PC. I verified that metadata is present before transferring. I tried using alternate camera apps and the metadata is not removed after transferring videos, so the issue seems to be with the default camera app in iOS 18. Any video taken while using the default camera app will have its metadata removed after transferring to PC.

I noticed after updating to iOS 18, my videos are stripped of their metadata and I can no longer see the thumbnail contents of the videos after transferring them to my Windows 11 PC.

Can you please contact our support at support@photosync-app.com. We can't reproduce what you describe here in any way but are of course very interested what settings etc. could cause your issue. The AppStore review section however is not the optimal place for in depth support. - also we can only respond here with significant delays. Maybe you can send us a short mail and describe what settings you use in PhotoSync and in the default camera app.

Perfect backup app

This app replaces apple photos for a full iphone image backup!
Transfer the camera roll back to a target folder is a breeze and you have a secure backup that can not be deleted in error as happens all too often in Photos.
Much easier to manage all my files than Dropbox etc
And if but the phone is stolen and images deleted, a safe copy is on a backup drive!

Works for me but can’t restore my premium purchase

Everything has worked for me. Takes a little to figure out which way works the best in the configurations, but once figured out it works great. Have had some issue uploading from the Web but that’s most likely my problem. The only frustrating thing for me is trying to restore the purchase on my wife’s phone which is a different iCloud user but part of my family iCloud group and all purchases are supposed to work with all the phones in the family group but it does not and have not received a response from their support. So the support isn’t very good. If I hear back from them in the next couple days I will change my rating. If I would have known the premium membership wouldn’t work on my other family phones I wouldn’t have purchased it.

Best app for photo transfer

Just purchased it today does what it was designed to do transfer my photos to and from pc and iPad. Easy setup well worth the purchase

Great app

I’ve been using for 6 months now and it works flawlessly. I’m backing up daily to my RPi/SSD using samba from multiple mobile devices in my household. The only improvement I can ask for is to add a new auto transfer trigger to enable weekly or monthly transfers as currently only daily transfers are supported and I don’t want to delete photos from my mobile device daily. The app is still worth 5 stars though as it works very well with the existing features.

I really love this app but it has one small issue

I transferred many photos at once and it worked great but when I checked to see if all the photos were there it seemed I was missing 7 photos. It would be tedious to check through over 10,000 photos. If the app had just uploaded all my photos I wouldn’t have to scan through it to find the missing 7. Since I am human and not a robot I still haven’t figured out the missing 7 so I’m a little annoyed. I really want all my pictures; even though it’s only 7 they could be 7 very important photos and if I reset my old phone they could be lost to time so please if there’s is a way to get them back or at least identify which are missing it would be much appreciated! Still overall a phenomenal app, it’s way better than the numerous other apps that claim to do what only this app has done with little to no issues!

Best photo transfer app

Simply the best photo transfer app. So easy to use. Have been using for 2 years. I recently upgraded to Premium solely to show my support to the developer because this app has saved me so much time and effort. Gold standard app!!

After a major iOS upgrade, iOS sometimes resets the unique identifiers of the photos/videos. This can confuse PhotoSync's new detection.
