Essential for Japanese study!
I love this program! iKnow's isn't a "teaching" program so to speak. It is used to help in vocabulary and forces you to read and understand words and phrases from repetition.
It's not a replacement for full on immersion, but you'll be learning words as they are commonly written like 勉強する (benkyousuru べんきょうする; to study) when most textbooks won't even introduce complex Kanji at that point.
It's a different approach and may not work for everyone. I've been using iKnow for over 80 hours and I feel I know a lot more than what I learned in the Genki I and II textbooks. It doesn't teach you conjugations or how things are used in context; hearing phrases over and over again you'll start to pick out things like "Hey he doesn't want to go to the library...so maybe it should look like in 行きません"
It's a bit hard to explain. But the cost of this program versus taking a class, buying expensive textbooks, or using *shudders* Rosetta Stone makes it well worth it!

A must have
This app should be the first stop for anyone serious in learning Japanese. For each word I write the kanji, meaning and the practice sentences. I review when walking to practice my speaking. This app has helped me improve my speed and fluency in recognising the 6000 core words.
Amazing for Learning Japanese!
This App is so so good for learning Japanese. I love the structure of the app, the overall look, and the learning methods. You have the core 6000 vocab words, you get example sentences, and kanji. It also tracks your day by day progress precisely with each word via a time limit. And finally you get audio for everything as well. Best of all, This app is actually made in Japan! Highly highly recommend for learning Japanese! Best app ever!

Perfect
Been using for 3 months now and it's really good, almost perfect. Happy that I can use the app while on the go away from my PC.
My Japanese has improved SO MUCH since using iKnow. So happy that I came across this. I don't even use memrise anymore as this is way better for learning and understanding Japanese.
Thank you guys so much for this wonderful experience.
Because of you my Japanese is getting really good and my kanji reading is great. Just wish all the kanji had the stroke orders shown as some do not.

Mr
I have been using this app for more than two years now and have improved a lot in spelling, pronouncing and reading the words.
The most effective language-learning tool I've found to date.
I love the iKnow program. The one feature I would still like to see, which is essentially nonexistent right now, is a notification system. The only notifications I get on my iPhone are "time to study with iKnow!" pop-ups, but these seem random and do nothing for me. I'd rather get an alert whenever words become available to be reviewed. As of now, I have to open the app to get the icon to refresh how many words are ready to be studied, which defeats the point for me.

Incredibly valuable study tool
I've been using iKnow for about six months and am surprised when I see the number of hours I've spent practicing Japanese using the service. Whether on a mobile device, tablet, or computer, iKnow can be used anywhere. If you're looking for an interactive way to learn Japanese and are bored by flashcards, iKnow in my opinion is fantastic.

Great Study tool! Definitely worth it!
This is a great app for learning new words, listening, and reading Japanese. I've been using this app for little over a year now and have definitely seen an improvement in my Japanese vocabulary and my ability to listen. There are many different activities within the app and you can learn at your own pace. There are a ton of sentences that help you read and understand Japanese sentence structure. I'm an intermediate student but no matter what your level, this app will have something for you.

Gr8 M8
Best app I have found for studying vocab. I used to use Sticky Study for this, but this app helps listening skill and it is great for working at your own pace. I recommend to anyone who needs to fill up their knowledge of basic vocab. It doesn't work past 6000 words, but at that point studying vocab like this is useless and you should be learning words with reading material and a dictionary.

Fantastic!
I absolutely L O V E this app. It's perfect for passing time or using as a serious study tool. They offer plenty of activities to help to improve different areas such as listening, grammar, and sentence formation.
The only thing I have noticed with the app is that it doesn't really teach anything to you as much as it gets you to just engage with the language. Which is appreciated, but sometimes I'll get confused about particle usage or why one word is being used instead of another (I'm studying Japanese). I think if they offered the ability to tap on parts of a sentence that would open up a reason/ lesson on that word or particle would unlock a whole new depth to learning the language.
Other than that, I think the iKnow is definitely worth investing in. If you're looking to study Japanese, this is well worth the time and money!
