Just don’t invest with these people!

I have been trying for a month to recover my funds from this place! No one there knows the regulations and they give out faulty information then later deny and gaslight. I was even told that the person I was talking to would not even make any money on the ‘deal’! I still have not gotten my money so, if you think that investing your money with these people will make you money while still having it be a bit liquid, just don’t! They will hang on to your money, charge you for doing so and then give false information about how to obtain your funds. Total rip off! Stay away from them! If you have money invested with them, start trying to get it back, now! It’s gonna take however long they want it to take!

The app can be a little hard to navigate

Two issues—perhaps the fault is mine, but if I can’t find things on the app easily, I tend to blame the app architecture
1- I was advised that I could vote my proxy for xon stock on line, but was given no link directly to it and couldn’t find it on the app.
2- I recently wanted to send a letter over the secure serving and found it very difficult where I could do that. Finally got there, but don’t really know how. A “send a message” button would be a great addition to the app.

It's a great app, well designed, easy to use.

It allows you to track your financial transactions and your investments inside of an aesthetically pleasing blue and white themed display.

It breaks down your investments and day to day changes in an easy to navigate and intuitive design. It allows you to email important forms and communicate with your financial team while being secure.

There have been times where I will get locked out for no reason, and I must call and sort of go back and forth with different departments until they finally unlock my account which is probably the worst thing about the app, but when it's working and I have access to everything, it's a 10/10.

There have also been times where the daily changes do not update, but over the years, they seem to have cleaned that up, so that's nice. It's been working consistently all year through 2023.

Overall, it's a great app and I feel it has to be one of the best financial apps, if not the best out there. I haven't used every financial app out there but I'd be surprised if there is one better.

Thank You Nissim Affrait (Beverly Hills Office)

I want to personally thank Nissim for his diligence and persistence. Thank you-you have been very helpful and thank you for your patience, as I am not the most tech savvy. I appreciate you taking the time to meet with me and guide me through each step of the transfers from Chase bank. I want everyone to know that you are a superior investment counselor and it is because of this that I left Chase and followed you over to Merrill Lynch. I look so forward to working with you again and know that you are appreciated.

Can’t deposit checks

I love a lot of things about the app like being able to see how much my stocks have grown and watching the interest on my money market account. However, I have not been able to deposit checks into my account. Also, it would be nice to have an option where I could just connect to my checking account so that I could put money in whenever I wanted without having to write out a check and take a picture of it but at least if you could fix, the part where I can’t deposit that would be super helpful

App doesn’t allow sign on from IPad

I love the functionality of the Merrill site, but the app for iPad doesn’t allow you to enter any information at all in the sign on screen. When you go to report an issue, there is only a telephone number, and when you try to open the developer website from iPad that doesn’t work either.
The interface for iPad needs to be improved. You can’t even sign on from Safari on an iPad, as it forces the app to open after you have entered your login information, and you end up in a loop of having to logon to the app, which doesn’t allow you to enter any information.

iOS App is slow to login and cannot bypass request for reviewing personal info

Each time I try to login to the iOS app on my iPhone, the load time after using Face ID is painfully slow. And once it does load, I’m greeted with a request to review my profile.

Given that this info has not changed, I then attempt to close out of this screen. At this point, the app then prompts me with a modal saying if I leave the screen none of my updates will be saved. Considering I didn’t make any changes in the first place, I click “cancel”.

There is no way to get this “review” to go away — I have tried reviewing it in previous login attempts, and even tried changing some information just to get it to stop, but it still shows up every. single. time. And this time irs even worse because I cannot even login.

Super frustrating user experience — there are a million other ways to get users to do this without blocking them from using the product altogether.

Security

This app is so secure I can't even get into my own account. It has a bunch of absurd password rules that virtually guarantee you won't be able to make it memorable for yourself. If you get it wrong more than once you have to completely reset everything and you can't use any old passwords, further ensuring that they get progressively harder and harder to remember. Finally, it randomly turns off faceID every couple of weeks. I don't have this problem with any other digital account. If you have to write your password down, it's not secure anyway. Just use two factor authentication to ensure security like literally every other company in the world rather than making a bunch of proprietary password requirements.

Improvement

I feel like this app can be a lot more user-friendly for example, when purchasing shares it should be more seamless to purchase more shares of a mutual fund when you are already viewing the account instead of having to start from the beginning, and finding the fund all over again. I also think that there should be a way to purchase fractional shares and a wider range of mutual funds without having to pay almost $20 per transaction that seems so unreasonable to me.

Not optimal

The app suffices but has some glaring omissions. It is not always obvious when a communication from my brokers office is available. Also, the running activity report has no running balance column.

The browser interface was much easier to read in the original format. I don’t know who decided the current format is easier to read, but it isn’t. Unfortunately, this format has migrated to the BofA web interface. Some developers had nothing better to do then make changes just for the sake of change. Different is not always better.
