  • Not so good any more

No longer recommended! The latest revision of this app removes what was the best feature of this tuner: its dual dial display. The new display is twitchy and harder to read, so it's no longer easy to get a precise tuning on your instrument. I'll be deleting this app and looking for a better one. Too bad.

    Old review:

Works well, responsive, precise, with an easy to interpret display. It has an ad promoting their other apps, and an advertising strip along the bottom of the screen, but it isn't too obtrusive.

The problem that some reviewers experienced, displaying a G as a D, or displaying an E as a B, is common to electronic tuners -- the tuner is latching on to a note a fifth above, responding to the harmonics of the string rather than its fundamental. The tuner still works: center the needle and the note will be in tune. It's just the note identification feature that is making the wrong choice. And the error, if any, will always be exactly a fifth -- it won't mislead you by displaying a note off by a semitone or two. Not ideal, but you'll see it in lots of electronic tuners, and it doesn't really affect the utility of the app -- even a tin ear can tell if the note is off by a fifth!

  • Best free one

This is the best and only free guitar tuner that works like a team tuner and knows what note you're playing, can filter out background noise and Just Works! Thank you!
  • Works most of the time

It will work for a couple strings or so of tunings. Then when I change to a different string it won't recognize that I had switched from G to D string, for example. I won't exactly call it 'frozen'. I just give my guitar one big open string strum, and it works again. Just like a slap...except with sound.

Hey, for something free and handy, it's kinda cool. You have no idea how many times someone's approuched me with, "Hey, by any chance, do you have a tuner with you?". And I felt bad because I didn't.

  • Nice..

I use it regularly, never had a problem with it. Fast, Accurate , an doesn't slow my phone up. Deff recommend !!
  • Go for it!!!

The best of all of them. Very accurate, mic works perfectly and u can even reduce the ambient noise to increase accuracy of the sound you really want it to capture.
I highly recommend, you won't regret it!
  • Pretty good tuner

At first, the 6th string (E) was show as a B, even though it was correctly tuned to E. After powering down my iPhone and restarting the app, it worked perfectly, agreeing with my other electronic tuner. Can't go wrong for free!
  • Awesome, accurate

This is a great app. It's very accurate and is going to be really useful. I don't know why some people have rated it so low. Try it and see for yourself!
  • It works!

Tried many guitar tuning apps and finally found this one which works quite well!
  • It actually works?!

I was pleasantly surprised to find how well this app worked. Definitely recommend it for use.
  • Yay! Tuner that actually works!

The people who gave bad reviews are all complaining about crashing. That could be their devices' fault as well. Nothing to do with functionality or the goodness of the app itself.

This tuner is actually helpful. Meter doesn't jump erratically like other free and paid ones. Background noise filter is cool.

Anyway, it's the fastest app I've used to get a guitar in tune accurately. Frustration with other tuners (looking at you, cleartune) has prompted me to review this one.

Probably the best free, no-nonsense tuner.
