Excellent Results
This app produces some excellent results. It's a specialty app, so bad reviews for not providing functions outside of this specialty should be taken with a grain of salt. True, there's room for improvements - the ability to add multiple "points of inclusion" would be great, as well as the ability to use the color picker rather than just the four presets.Show lessJTH1957
Good App but needs some tweaks
This is pretty well inspired and is a must for any serious monochrome iPhone editor. It's a shame it can't crop and straighten images though. Also rather oddly it doesn't always output the effect in the same place you see it on the edit view, this needs fixing. I've grown to love it and not found anything else out there with the same level of control for B&W vignettes. If it could add blur as well it would be knockout.Show lessTheBrickie
Some good results
This is an excellent little program. Easy to use and with the right photo can produce some really impressive results.
Try using the output into a program such as ToonPaint for some line-art type effects.App Tiler
Lovely effects, but resolution too small for impressive prints
It does accomplish many of its lofty goals, but falls flat on delivering sufficient resolution. Not only does it downsize photos, it doesn't deliver resolution as great as claimed. Once they upgrade to keep the native resolution of the original photo, this will be a five star review.spomonti
Slick interface, cool results
I really like the look I can get with "Noir Photo". The control is easy and intuitive. It does need an iOS 5 update as it gets confused with orientation sometimes.wideeyedwanderer

Not full resolution
Terribly overpriced and overrated.
Essentially, Noir is a vignette manipulation app. It offers 6 preconfigured vignette modes. Each has a slightly different color or tone all with a vintage feel.
Once you've chosen a vignette mode, you can place the vignette wherever you like and expand or contract it. You are limited to an oval vignette profile.
Other then vignette size, you can only make three modifications to your image, contrast inside the vignette oval, contrast outside, and overall contrast.
No independent white or black levels, no ability to add grain. These basic features are strangely missing from an app billed as a "black and white" powerhouse.
Ultimately, if you're looking for a monochrome app, you'll get broader tools in most other apps, including free apps.
The worst part is that Noir does not save images at full resolution. Max res is 3m. Nowhere in the description is this listed.Show lessToccata47
