Touch dashboard without any extra work!
I am amazed! I just gave my boss the same dashboard on his iPad that he was using on a browser before and I didn't have to change or do anything - it just worked! Typical Tableau...

A poor start
Let's be clear - the guys at Tableau are a bright bunch, but this App falls way short of performance expectations. It feels like an early beta as opposed to a finished product. The filters interface is unusable in it's current form, tab selection does not work and it has crashed several times within the first 10 minutes of use.
When it comes to data mining, Tableau is king but there is a great danger that their graphical interface is looking very outdated already, especially when compared to the likes of Roambi, which unlike Tableau, is designed specifically for the iPad and takes advantage of the gesture interface to access graphical data to a whole new level. Tableau looks like a very ugly sister by comparison, but one that has inherited serious brains.
My advice is wait, they will get it right...let's hope very soon!

Long way to go...
I am a Tableau desktop user. I was hoping that this app would justify my company's investment in Tableau Server, but I am thus far unimpressed. As far as the UI is concerned, they have done a pretty good job. Two things, however, killed it for me.
1) They go to all the trouble of allowing me to select and view a set of data, but don't allow me to share it with anyone. An email feature, or an export to Dropbox, Numbers, Pages, etc would be excellent. I need to be able to collaborate.
2) Prohibitively slow. I (and many of the execs and sales reps in my company) are running iPad 1s (maybe the 2 is better?), and the visualizations all take a VERY long time to load, and an even longer time to filter, manipulate, etc. If I don't have the patience for the data to load, I know for a fact that other users in my company won't.
While I still think this has great potential, I'll be waiting to see improvements in the next iteration. I have faith that the Tableau team can deliver, but this is not it.

Tableau Mobile...
Very easy to use and practical - the best mobile BI app I've yet to see. No lock-in to a small number of design templates. You can look at your data in hundreds of ways. This will be a game changer for me. Five stars!
A new world for Tableau Software
I've just downloaded the this new application and played with the sample files. Just spent my first few minutes playing with the samples provided. I love it!
Wish it could be used with the desktop license
Probably awesome with Server, but I only have the desktop version.
Worth the wait - mobile BI is here!
I have been awaiting the Tableau platform to ready itself onto the mobile platform for quite some time ... This was worth the wait. As expected, I was connected to Tableau Server within seconds and not viewing ... But interacting with my Web Analytics, email, social media, and other online data (exported by MashableMetrics).
