Description of EV Logger

EV Logger gives electric vehicle owners the ability to record energy use information to track range and energy efficiency in much the same way that a gas car owner might track gas mileage. The app is customizable so the owner can choose what information items to record and the entry order. Given sufficient data, EV Logger provides some simple calculations like battery-to-wheel efficiency per drive and wall-to-wheel efficiency per drive/charge cycle. The recorded data may be exported for further analysis. The current version contains appropriate settings for a Nissan LEAF, RAV4 EV, Tesla Roadster, Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3 & Model Y and a generic setting that can be customized for other electric vehicles.

Reviews of EV Logger

  • Just what I was looking for

The app is tailored for logging trips and charging sessions for EVs. There are plenty of fields from which you can pick and choose to record as much or as little information as desired. It works great for me, worth the small price. I only regret my Ioniq 5 does not have a specific listing, but it was easy to create my own vehicle profile.
  • Great idea but unreliable

I just purchased this app and after entering two trips it quit working. The field names no longer were visible which doesn’t do me much good when I’m trying to enter data!

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback. The problem you experienced was probably related to a Dark Mode issue that is fixed in version 1.6. Please give that a try and let us know if you are still having an issue.
  • So helpful, but it needs more data fields

I have been using this logging app for over 6 months now, and I find it invaluable to track the health of my battery and my car, but it's gotten to the point where this app REALLY needs some additional fields. There is a new app out there being developed by a Nissan Leaf owner which provides information from the CAR-CAN of the Nissan Leaf and I'd love to be able to log this extra data into my EV Logger app, but can't really do it efficiently (I'm using notes right now, and it's not the best it can be).

The data we really need to be able to track and log are GIDs, Ahr, CAP%, and Health%. In addition to that, it would be so much more helpful if we could have at least one decimal point granularity on the all tempurature logging data and the SOC% data.

Other than those additional pieces of information and some extra precision on the temp and SOC fields, this is a fantastic app! Thanks for the hard work and thanks in advance for considering these changes. :)

    Developer Response

Battery capacity Ah, SOH and Hx are all available fields, just not included in the default configuration for the LEAF. To enable those fields, go to a charge or drive record, hit the customize button, scroll to the bottom of the "hidden items" group and drag the fields you want up into the "visible items". Any of those items can be added to any of the record types (drive, charge, park and reset).
