Once your given the run through of the tech, and if you don’t get it the Volvo team make sure there available to help. My car was delivered earlier than expected. Even though the xc40 doesn’t come with leather we just asked for an after market to put it in. Thinking this was smaller than my merc gla, and the Volvo is on paper but it seems bigger some how. The navigation is so easy to use and see. The display is adjustable for the no fuss to, you want everything on display. Perfect height to get in and out of. Fail to send address to my car
It was found recently that the apps disabled the send button after address search. The reason found that said the car is in use. Ok, I tried to parked the car and reopen the app but still not allowed to send. Again, turned off the power and open-close the driver’s door to simulate the situation before lock. But still not allowed to send. Finally, the only send button available is I have to leave my car.
I understand the concept behind that is the safety reasons. But the app was restricted like that is almost disabled the send fonction. Moreover , the app in my wife’s iPhone was not allowed to send too even she is not driving. The ´´send’´ button is so important to rescue the stupid enough of the on board address search. Please to make it more reasonable to user friendly.

Close, Still needs some work…
Nice to see continuing updates for the newer models, but don’t forget your existing base of customers, would be nice for you to bring back features for the diesel/petrol cars, such as preconditioning, that can be scheduled to run the ventilation in the car (without starting the engine), but can no longer be activated via the app on my 2017 V90.
The latest update gives us interesting graphics, great to see my car with the sunroof for example (Wish that was also true on the 360° Camera view as it spoils the Birdseye illusion), but a lot of people are finding the use less intuitive, to enter the Climate section (Fan Symbol) to start the car engine has apparently confused many (Volvo forums) and choosing not to start the car engine but start Climate by hitting Start button is a bit strange. How about a Start Engine & Start Climate button again. Unlock via Face ID isn’t always working in v 5.01 and I’m having to type in the Long Password each time. The link to report issues in App Store just takes you to Volvo Car Support with no option for the app…?Show lessRobert Paul Wilton
Scheduled charging now fails
Ever since an update about two months ago (I’ve been using the app for two years fine until now) the app now has problems with scheduled charging. If I have an existing schedule of 12am-6am to charge to 60% with the car plugged in, the next morning it will have charged to 60% just fine. However, if I want to now charge at 11am-3:30pm (because the sun is out producing free energy) and it’s not yet reached 11am, I change the app times to the new schedule. When 11am comes, the app shows the schedule is ready and car plugged in and it doesn’t charge at 11am. It says “plugged in not charging”. I can replicate this and the only fix is when I open the driver’s door the car suddenly realizes it was supposed to be charging and then starts charging. I have screen shots but cannot add them to this review. The other way to “kick start” the charging is to remotely lock or unlock the car AFTER the schedule change. So that tells me the scheduled Charging is not queuing the car when you save it in the app, but when you unlock the car, it sends that data to the car and then realizes that a schedule change was applied and then it starts charging.Show lessKevin.Ely
Volvo app.
2023 .Volvo XC40 mild hybrid . App will not start vehicle or lock and unlock doors. Worked ok for a while then stopped working all of a sudden. Location is also inaccurate sometimes. Deleting app and reinstalling didn’t help! Seems like the app looses connection with the vehicle after a certain time. Serviced the vehicle and everything is updated but still no difference.
Where are all technical experts!

Send route to car functionality missing in Canada
In the app my car knows its location. I can search for other locations in the map. I cannot get directions to those locations and send them to my car because I’m in Canada. The option has been there for the US for quite some time.Kelvar
Good, but…
This app has evolved over time to be very functional and I use it a lot with my C40. It would be perfect if only it could be used as a digital key (such as with Polestar 2)happyhippos2
