  • Admins and new user experience

It’s a know fact on the app, most admins don’t deserve to be admins. To new users who see this review don’t be discouraged by the admins and their admin abuse, the community is good and you’ll like it. Now the new user experience, the idea that has been being pushed is that new users don’t like the memes posted on picto, which from experience is untrue. Many things have been done to bring in new users which has helped the app grow but many of the internal actions to keep users pushes new and old out. No one likes admins who abuse their power and no one likes admins who don’t understand their demographic. Triple A developers understand their users better

  • Just Get It.... It's Awesome

Well I don't know why ppl wouldn't like this, it's way better than most apps and the admin behind pictophile is pretty chill, so anything goes. It's perfect for making and posting images/videos and it all flows pretty smoothly. Ignore most of the negative reviews, they're probably written by some irrelevant hotheads.

  • Abusive Admins

If you think you have a chance at making memes and getting them into popular and seen by the majority of the app you are wrong, Thanks to the tyranny of a certain group of admins abusing their power to force their own posts into popular (which regularly consists of borderline nude women). the vast majority of this apps users hate these admins but due to the fact that the admins have a close relationship to the owner it is impossible to get them demoted or even close to punished for their abusive actions. The admins hold users ban hostage if they voice their concerns over the actions of said admins and can do nothing to stop it. You're better off downloading Reddit at this point. Especially since most posts come from there anyway.

  • LOVE, (~UwU)~

I haven't had this app for very long, but I love it. Creating memes is really easy and you have great options for different designs. There's classic memes, caption memes, outline memes, etc. Not only are you able to create memes but you can look at the memes other people make and there is so much creativity present in our society. Maybe my opinion won't mean much because I'm only 15 and I haven't lived that long and I don't know much, but I think that connecting with people and having interactions with them is good. Even if you have a negative experience, it teaches you things and if people connect through their humor, that's frikkin amazing. I 100% suggest this app. I've tried a lot, but this is the only one I've genuinely enjoyed and stuck with. It makes things simple while allowing you to create seemingly complicated things. Thank you for coming to my TED talk, and goodnight.

(Also, the "Rules" they have and the captions they give are hilarious. The people who made this app have connected with my generation and understand how we talk to each other. We may not be the most understandable but we know each other well enough to form bonds through relatable situations.)

  • The Greatest Meme Maker on The App Store

Pictophile is the best meme maker on the app store. There are tons of different options, including impact font memes, captions, layering, gif makers, and even a news format. There is a ton of variety and it is made to look more modern than most of its competition. However, the community itself is what brings the app down. Although there are some really nice people on the app, a great many of the app's users are often mean spirted, which may make the app harder to join for newcomers. Overall, the app's great, and if you're just looking for a place to make memes, this is the place to do it.

Thank you! Exactly what the app is about. Meme making and sharing.
  • Annoying Alerts I Couldn’t Stop

I’ve had this app forever and it WAS my go-to on the rare occasions I wanted to make a meme. For the record, I’m an old(ish) woman (late 50’s), so my life doesn’t revolve around my devices, my number of likes or re-Tweets, my karma, or how relevant my memes are. I never enable alerts or push notifications on ANY app- I’ll look at stuff when I choose to, not when someone updates their profile picture for the umpteenth time this week so that they can once again get validation that they’re ‘SO pretty 💞👍🎉💯🔝‼️💣🍭🔥🔥🔥🌹💋!!!’

But I digress. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, I started getting banner alerts about once every other day on my iPad from Pictophile, saying stupid things like, ‘It’s been a while since you’ve made a meme using Pictophile. You need to...’ I never really read any of them in their entirety since I was usually in the process of picking up and turning on the device and the message was gone before I had the chance. I’ve been in all sorts of control panels trying to put a stop to these alerts. Every time I thought I had it licked, a few days would go by, only for another to pop up. I’m tired of wasting my time trying to prevent this from happening so I simply deleted the app. Just now. And came to the App Store to leave this review.

Shame on you, developers of Pictophile. When people say they don’t want to be bothered- believe them.

Terribly sorry you were experiencing this. You can disable/enable notifications for any app by opening the settings app on your phone, going to "notifications" and then tapping on the appropriate app. Then you can toggle a master switch to enable/disable push notifications. Alternatively, when the app asks you if you want notifications when you first open the app, you can just hit "cancel" instead of "allow". You must have hit "allow" without realizing it when you first got the app.
  • wait, i have to pay now ?

I use this app all the time. i run a fan account, so i use this for memes, imagines, and other edits. i used to swear by this app, but today i went to try and ‘stitch’ two photos together, now i apparently have to PAY to use that feature. ive been using this app for months and ive never had to pay for anything, which is why i loved it and recommended it to a few friends who also use it now. all of us are disappointed. now im not sure if this is some glitch, but that doesnt seem very likely does it ? so now i am on the search for a new editing app .

We brought back the image combiner as free again. We even updated it and now it's more powerful than ever!
  • My favorite app-

This app is... fun, to say the least. The people on it are usually very nice, and those that aren’t are blocked. I have warned you, though, it is definitely for older men and women alike. Do not think you have what it takes to navigate this app without the smarts or correct level of maturity. I hope you enjoy the app as much as I do, as it helps me through my daily life!

  • This app has awesome features

This app is pretty good. I found it a while ago and they’ve made constant updates to keep it up and running. Its smooth. Works well. And it lets you do a lot of things that MANY meme makers do not. It takes a little practice but its not hard at all. Highly recommend to someone who likes to make memes.

  • Solid app

This app does what it is intended to do and it does it well. Make memes from pictures you’ve taken of strangers. Stitch videos together that you’ve stolen off the internet. Make embarrassing GIFs to use as later bargaining tools when your kids get older. Do all these things and more with clear and easy instruction even if you don’t know how to turn your own device on and off or aren’t trusted with forks at the kitchen table. It’s easy. It’s fun.
