  • Where's the inter-app audio?

I love the lay-out, the sound quality and functionality, but my main draw to buying this app was the inter-app connectivity that is advertised in the description. I feel a bit jipped as this seems to be false advertisement. Please fix and I will give this app 5 stars :) UPDATE; where's the metronome? The more i try to use this piece of kit, the more problems i encounter and there hasn't been an update since i bought this thing almost a year ago. Im starting to think this was just a GIANT cash grab for the company. Just lost yet another star. Please fix, what could be an amazing 5 star synth.

  • Excellent, but....

I like the old look better. Still a 5 star app
  • Warm sounds and endless possibilities

Sunrizer for iPad is one of the more widely appreciated synthesizers, and for good reason. The app really everything you could want out of a full-featured synth: full compatibility (AudioBus, Virtual MIDI, export options); a beautiful and accessible user interface that puts almost every relevant control on the main screen; and warm, musical sounds that range from classic synth to modern ambience.

There are other great synths for iPad, ranging from the freeware Alchemy to other full-featured competitors like Magellan, Arctic ProSynth, and Thor. But one subtle advantage to using Sunrizer is the sheer amount of first-party and user-generated preset content there is. I loaded up the app and there were literally 5 or 6 banks available immediately for download. Other users can create and export their own as well. For relatively new users, presets are a great way to get started before you start twisting knobs and changing oscillators.

Finally, Sunrizer just looks and feel authentic and professional from the moment you load it up. There's little touches that I appreciate, like the always-visible output gauge and constant access to the attack/release/sustain/decay sliders. There's nothing wrong with owning more than one synth, but if you had to own only one, this might be it.

  • Nice.....but make amp attack longer?

Great sounds but would love it even more if I could set a longer amp attack time.
  • Inter app audio?

I thought this app was supposed to have inter-app audio? How am I supposed to open this in my recording apps it's not showing up?

I've tried this with beatmaker2 Audioshare and GarageBand with no luck.

Besides that it's a great sounding synth audiobus works
  • Beautifully executed, rich sounds, extra mile on the keyboard look, but minor issues

The help manual, found under the Utilities button, is not up to date. For instance, to change the size of the keys, it tells you to hit the preferences button. There is no preference button in this Oct 2013 release. Saving an altered preset, ( and not just by recording something you played on it) is figured out by trial and error. If you play back a sound you created and recorded, stop and hit the keyboard, it will not be set to the sound you worked on if you switched to another sound before you hit playback...so, figure out how to save it as a preset, even tho it's not apparent how to before you move to another sound. It is Very not apparent how to do it. Again, the manual is simply not in sync with this new version. I think it says 2011 or 2010 on it. Otherwise, dying for my roommate to split for a couple of days so I can output these sounds to the hifi in the living room. Super rich stuff. Today I found the end title music to the first version of Blade Runner on this...and just as fat. Here's a request. The best version of a Prophet sound was for me, Wally Badarou's Echoes recording, probably late seventies.(now on CD) I think this baby can get there, and I hope some programmers can figure it out. Best prophet pad I ever heard. Even if a keyboard had only that sound Wally got and no other, it would be worth buying.

  • Still my favourite iOS synth

This was the first proper iOS synth I bought. Since then I have purchased a few others, and while they are all fantastic, I still keep coming back to Sunrizer. It's easy to use, it sounds amazing, and it's super flexible.

Beepstreet makes quality products. Love them.
  • Possibly the most accessible iOS synth

My favourite IOS synth; keep coming back to it, happy that updates have extended the functionality. Only gripes are: the Arp editor is not as accessible as say the likes of steppolyarp and the randomise button is buried..
  • Superb

I agree wholeheartedly with the reviewer who said "this thing sounds expensive" - spot on! Beautifully detailed sounds, rumbling bass, so many sonic possibilities - at such a modest price! I'm posting this review after using it for several months - wanted to say thanks for the most recent update. Very useful and generous, to boot.
