This app is ran by a terrible team and will actually make your mental health worse.
This app is ran by bad people who only pretend they care about you. They used to own Vent, a much better app that used to exist, and purposefully sabotaged it by making horrible decisions so they could buy out the competition and shut it down. They constantly make decisions that put mentally ill people at risk and never listen to what the community wants or when the community tells them how the decisions they make will put them in danger.
I joined this app after the Vent shutdown just to see how different it was and got told twice by people to commit su*c*de. This community is very harmful and eggs people on to hurt themselves or bullies/harasses them. And the mod team just allows these people to do so because every report you make on a person is completely ignored and they aren’t even suspended.
This app is a huge joke.

Good app
The app seems to have improved, but that little spell checker is a basic requirement for an app, can we please have it?
Not a good app
“ your mental health community “ yet they absolutely do not understand about your struggles. They will only care about what brings them the numbers to their app. Jamie, the founder, is an absolute joke. will block you if you need help. Don’t care about your innocent when proving you didn’t do this or that. He will not help get back your account.

Problematic
Talklife is full of toxicity, degenerates and those just looking to use a mental health app as a dating app. If you aren’t dealing with advances, you are harassed off of the platform. Surprisingly, Jamie Druitt doesn’t moderate these issues and instead allow them to fester and let his users be harassed.
If it isn’t the users you have to look out for, it’s the owner, Jamie. Widely unreliable, immature, verbally abusive with those who disagree with him, ignorant, weak and unfit to manage a community, nevertheless a large one. He would rather let problems within his app get worse, blame everyone but himself and then consider deleting the app all together to avoid responsibility. I beg you to reconsider where you put your time and feelings, as this owner is known for wanting to shut down his services multiple times and successfully as done so with the app, Vent, which was active for a decade with a good concept and user base, until he made unnecessary changes and made the community unhappy, to the point he blamed everyone and decided to just get rid of the app all together.
Look for alternatives. Huddleverse, Spoony, Stoic, etc. Are all very good apps with a better system in place, with developers who actually care for your well being, unlike Jamie.

Not a safe space
There is an issue with lack of proper moderation that causes users to feel unsure about posting and needing to worry about being bullied. The owner also is not fit for being in charge of a space for mentally ill people who are suffering; having an issue where he takes people’s comments far too personally and responds inappropriately and harshly.

I would give it 0 stars if I could.
TalkLife. Where do I start.
This app is a cesspit. Bad interfacing, glitches and bugs everywhere, awful moderation and worse userbase. The owner of the app is an absolute manchild, liable to shut his apps down at random due to his own feelings. He is not transparent with how he uses and retains user data, and cannot be trusted at all to keep any promises regarding customer satisfaction and safety, nor to respond to any customer inquiries.
Jamie Druitt is a baby and a coward, unfit to run an application at all, and he should probably try another career path. A shame, because at its core TalkLife could have been an interesting application. However, many other apps are doing the same thing better (Spoony, Huddleverse, etc). AVOID!!!!!

they don’t care about you
don’t let their fake positivity fool you, the creators of this app + most notably JAMIE DRUITT, founder of this app, DO NOT CARE about your mental health. they do not care about you. they do not care to fix issues you’re having with the app. they do not care if you’re disabled. they do not care if you need expanded accessibility. they do not care if pedophiles speak with minors on their apps. they do not care about hate speech for marginalized communities. they do not care about keeping you safe. they do not care about the science behind mental health. vent app was shut down with a week notice — some people opened that app every day for years only to watch jamie and his talklife crew lie, throw fits, and belittle their userbase on vent. do you think it’s acceptable for a mental health app ceo to call its userbase “uptight and difficult”? i do not. if you have mental health issues, if you are disabled, if you are vulnerable and need a safe space — find it away from talklife or anything talklife owns. jamie has proven he doesn’t mind to destroy the support systems of vulnerable people when he gets his feelings hurt.

Awful
Such a bad app. Owned by the same people who own Vent. Also you aren’t responding to why you’re removing Vent but when people ask questions, you’re deleting their comments? What is wrong with y’all
It’s like vent but worse
Like the title says it’s a vent copy but worse in every way. Full of bullies and extremists, hyper corporate design and the opposite of mental health with an incompetent person running it
TalkLife Will Leave You When You Need Help the Most
This app is a cheap rip off of Vent, a competitor app that had a strong, caring community. TalkLife bought out Vent and destroyed it, on purpose, to remove their competitors. Without care to their customers or the people that relied on Vent to get by day to day. TalkLife is only concerned with appearing to be concerned for its users. There is so much that they could have done as a company, but they chose not to, and they lied about their choices in order to look like they actually cared that literal lives depend on easily accessible, affordable mental health apps like these. TalkLife should not be providing apps under the guise of mental health. I and many of my friends are reeling at the loss of support due to TalkLife’s callous actions. They don’t need your money since they told us they wouldn’t take ours, so don’t give it to them. UPDATE: TL is still a harmful and toxic environment, and after two years of on again off again with the competitor Vent app, they’ve finally decided to pull its plug with almost no notice to the users and absolutely zero reasoning behind it, leaving them, again, with nowhere to go to during an extremely turbulent time.
