Only one gold coin :(

I’ve enjoyed this challenging game and hoped to make it to the finish line. But in the arcade I’ve played at least two rounds on machine #2 and one round on #1 and only received ONE gold coin for my efforts. So I can’t buy a second battery. Oh well, looks like I need to give up on this game. Very frustrated with this glitch.

Beautiful

Flawless

Beautiful, engaging, and just the right amount of challenging

I love this brilliant little gem of a game. The artwork is incredible, and it has great character design, especially with its clever little robot protagonist. Such great storytelling for a game with little to no dialog or onscreen text from what I recall; I replay it every couple years (about how long it takes me to forget all the solutions to the puzzles). Can’t wait to introduce my kids to it once I finish my next play through (some of the puzzles are quite intricate, so I’ve got to be prepared to help them if they get stuck). I’m a sucker for robots and steam punk, so this was an easy purchase, and it’s definitely worth the money spent. I would love to see a sequel to this someday!

Tic-tac-toe is impossible

I really enjoyed this up until the tic-tac-toe games, I cannot get anywhere close to winning. I’ve deleted this game now as I can’t progress sadly, I wish I could get a refund.

Creative world but frustrating

So much to like about this world. Vibrant and engaging graphics. Cute story. Colorful. I liked, somewhat, that stages needed revisiting. Helped connect things. But overall, I found this game frustrating. Some of the puzzles just didn’t make sense and so much repetition needed just through certain stages. Once the robot was set to talk in a certain direction, you often cannot stop him and so you have to let the motion completely play out before you can try again. The walkthroughs were great but why have to play a game each time? And some of them were just not intuitive, so seeing the answer was frustrating.

That said, much about the world and the games is fun. I just never got that feeling of satisfaction you get from fully figuring something out yourself. If the robot worked differently, and if there wasn’t the need for so much repetition, it would have been better. A bit pricey perhaps, but all in all, I’m glad I saw what it was about.

Best Game I Have EVER PLAYED

Loved it I can not stop playing it. It’s full of small details that make it so much better it’s relaxing to play and also rushed in way as the robot try’s to save the city

Game crashed

Enjoyed the game a lot until found crash which doesn’t let me continue to the next level

Response from developer

Hi there, sorry to hear about the trouble. Try restarting your device and if that does not solve the issue, please contact us at support@amanita-design.net about this. Thank you.

In love

I’ve played and bought all their games, Samorost 1,2,3 and Bontanicula and Machinarium and completely obsessed. I play them now over again when I’m anxious or want a calming activity as they’re so chill and soothing and take me to a different world. Love them sooo much. Good job Animata, I love you!!

Lovely to a fault!

With a cute plotline, artsy graphic, and challenging puzzles; this game is a lot of fun all the way to the end.
... and even if the App Store doesn't say Machinarium supports controllers, it actually does very well. Tested it with my Backbone, works great.

Looking forward to a sequel! 🤞

if ronald searle was a robot.

he would have birthed this game.
