Black Screen

The new "enhanced" version does not work on either brand spanking new iPad mini or on iPad3. I downloaded it three times and get nothing but a black screen. The only thing this new version "enhanced" is my frustration.

Not downloading correctly and lost issues

Very unhappy. Loses my issues every time I open. Wants to charge me for the latest again. What gives?

You get what you pay for - In a good way!

I am astonished by how many people continue to complain that this app and other magazine apps are not "free." Of course they are; it is the subscription that is not free. Was I disappointed the first time I downloaded an app only to find out the subscription had to be paid for? Sure, but not enough to write a critical review about the app. This is a standard practice, people! As for the subscription itself, it does what it is supposed to do…present a digital copy of the publication. In this case, it is an "interactive replica" which means exactly that--a replica of the magazine with interactive URL's and search functions, etc. It is NOT a special edition of the publication that is formatted especially for a tablet or handheld. These types of subscription are great, but they cost more because it cost more to *produce* them. Learn about what you are buying and you won't be disappointed. Otherwise, this is a quality publication and well worth the subscription price to have it in a digital format. If they had a specially-formatted version, I'd probably be willing to pay more for it as well.

This application is not optimized for iPad much less iPhone

The first thing to note is that the app is not interactive or has special content or video like GQ. This looks like someone took pictures of the pages of the magazine and are streaming them through. The font is almost impossible to read on an iPad. If you have an iPhone could be even harder.
I thought esquire would be better than this. Dissapointed.

Idiots.

I had to download this app just to be able to write a review and tell the people leaving 1 star reviews because the magazine isn't "free as advertised" that they are absolute IDIOTS.

Would you expect to walk into Tesco and take a magazine for free? Of course you bloody wouldn't. I sincerely hope none of you have children as I would fear for the future of society.

The app is "free" as it's a SUBSCRIPTION based purchase, you pay per issue as an in app purchase. Morons!

Doesn't really work at all

It opens but won't let me buy any issues...

Fire the ux

It's horrable to read and navigate on this app.

Expensively cheap

It's definitely only useful on an iPad due to how difficult it is to read on the phone. There is no real discount considering the likely cost to make it compared with print. Also, and this goes with the print and electronic copy, the new look Esquire is no where near as good as the old version. The old version seemed to have a bit more class than GQ, you didn't quite feel like you were being sold something in every article, the features were more grown up and informative, the regulars (such as the whole section on man skills) were something to look forward to every month and finally....................the guests weren't just some puppet you could see on X-Factor everyweek who's life story you could get from the middle pages of The Sun. Do not buy.

Not an IPad app

This is essentially a magazine pretending to be an IPad interface. The articles, few that they are cannot be read by mortal men, perhaps Gnomes are able to read the infinitely small print. Felt very cheap and not comparable to GQ. Do not recommend!

Me Gusta

It's good. I love reading magazines on my iphone. All of these one star ratings are misleading, it's an app that lets you read magazines you pay for on your iphone. Like iTunes for zines.
