Good app - but the preview images stopped working!

Overall the app works really well, the layout is usable.

My only complaint would be that for the last few versions the preview images do not display.

This makes the alert panel useless because you cannot see the snapshots of what was captured in the alert.

Still do recommend the server and app solution though 👍🏾

Excellent customer service

Bought my camera in December 2020. It stopped working in March. The helpline was unable to fix it. Emailed me a preprinted UPS label. Returned it and they shipped another one. Company stood behind their service 100%. Will do business with ivideon and recommend it.

The only two minor issues, (1) the instructions on the first camera said to use oco app. Which does not work. Had to calm helpline who guided me

(2) Unable to share the feed through the app. Says generic error.

Disappointed

I’ve been using my Oco branded cameras for years. In recent weeks they’ve all stopped working and are unable to register again via either the Invideon or Oco apps. I guess you get what you pay for. I’ll be moving to another brand with a better reputation and HomeKit support.

Erratic performance

The camera is glitchy when trying to set it up-which happens with setup after power dips. It can’t “see” the internet. Snagging wi-fi can take very long. It searches until you give up and have to start over. The camera doesn’t catch all activity. It’s impossible to know what it will record or won’t. It often over-heats. Picture quality is good. It never plays the video in the larger screen, only in the event list. Better than Wyze that charges you to use features that come with the camera. And Wyze uses your email to annoy you with endless ads and sales pitches for other products.

Dear user, we are sorry to hear that you've encountered difficulties while using Ivideon. Would you please precise the model of the camera you are talking about? Can the camera be found in your local network on your router's interface or with IP scanning software whenever it has difficulties reconnecting to the service? When you are talking about the activity the camera does not catch, are you referring to the motion taking place in front of the camera but being missed in the cloud or local archive recordings? If so, please check the level of sensitivity set up for the motion detector of the camera. In case you are talking about the absence of an event on a certain trigger, please note that we have the following algorithm for events: a user gets a notification when a motion or a sound occurs. Then if there is no motion within 5 minutes and it occurs in the 6th minute or later, it is considered as a new event and a new notification is sent. If there has been a motion within 5 minutes then that is considered as one continuous event and a new notification would not be sent. The following period will be counted from the last event in the previous period, i.e. if there is a motion at 12:00 and a notification is sent then at the following event at 12:04 a notification will not be sent and the next event will be considered as a new one if it comes later than at 12:09. Also, concerning the larger screen, please note that in the horizontal orientation of your mobile device you should be able to see the live video from a camera, as well as its archive recordings in fullscreen mode. Please answer our questions by sending us feedback from the app (main menu → Help tab → Contact us) or via email at support@ivideon.com for further troubleshooting, we'd be happy to assist you!

Still not fixed

Still reverts to portrait mode when camera viewed in landscape mode on a smartphone after a short period of time. You’ve know. About this for months. Used to work fine, before the last upgrade !!!

Dear user, we're sorry you're encountering difficulties using our mobile app. Please precise, what kind of device are you experiencing this on (phone, tablet), as well as its model. Additionally, if possible, please try out if this also happens on a different mobile device with an Ivideon app installed. As mentioned previously, please get in touch with our technical support either via the app (main menu → Help tab → Contact us) or via the e-mail address support@ivideon.com with the answers to the questions above in order to proceed with further troubleshooting of this issue.

New pricing plans!

Really great server software and app, had a few issues over the years on their end but usually fixed within a few days.
Unfortunately Ivideon changed its pricing structure today so that anything over one camera you have to pay per camera which for me would cost £100+ per year!
Now you might think that’s a good deal for things like cloud recording, face recognition etc but this is for the absolute basic service with none of these features so it’s pretty much a glorified DDNS NoIP service, which basically means it routes you back to your own server at home, which yeah is handy if you are on a dynamic ip which most home users are but not for £100+!
Again this is just to route your device back to your server which is doing all the work and heavy lifting, you can get these sort of services like noip etc for pennies!!
Very disappointed in Ivideon’s decision, I would definitely want to pay something because they’ve worked hard on the software but not this much, looks like I have to find an alternative.

Update
Yes I completely understand paying something for it as it’s allot of hard work but again it’s not worth £100+ per year for me when it’s my own systems that are actually doing all the heavy lifting and yours is just telling me where that system is in the world and effectively just dialling me back to it.
If there was an option to connect via a service like noip it would basically do the same thing.
Again thanks for your hard work and if prices reduced in the future I’d definitely use you again as it’s a great service.

Another update
So this app is officially useless as they have now dropped the freemium option for one camera.
You used to get one camera connected at no cost but you have to pay for everything now and again it’s literally an over inflated NoIP service, the cost is just crazy to connect back to MY server that is doing ALL the actual work!
The developers should earn something but what they want for the service they actually provide is just crazy.

Hi Jim, thanks for your feedback. These measures are necessary in order we could have an opportunity to retain the current service, preserve its quality and security level and develop new products according to our users' needs. You may always contact us via the mobile app (Menu → Help → Contact us) or e-mail at support@ivideon.com.

Safety

The cameras are very easy to install and set up. Make my family and I feel safe knowing we have the system with recorded video surveillance.

This app never improves

This app still continually logs me out and always has a loading animation on the screen. Why doesn’t it consistently load the live video like it’s suppose to (on Google fiber)? Can’t wait to find a new company to move to!

No longer works

Has worked fine for years and years. Now the newest update is rubbish. When I click on events to view a clip the app immediately crashes

Edit- the app developers responded to my issue and have fixed it. The clips are now viewable.

Generally it’s a solid app, motion/ sound detections come through quickly. However low rating initially was because the app wasn’t performing its core role, rendering it useless. However happy again now that it’s working

Thank you for updating your review, we really appreciate it! Should you have any further questions about our service or if you have any ideas or suggestions for features so that the app could now merit your 5 stars instead of 4, please feel free to get in touch with us either via the app (menu → Help → Contact us) or via email at support@ivideon.com.

Unable to connect anything....

Why do I need to install a server on a pc / mac to simply run this software; which defeats the object of simplified connectivity? This app could be so good! But I certainly won’t be installing a server to run it!!!

Response from developer

Dear User! A camera without Ivideon firmware can be connected to your Ivideon account via Ivideon Server software or Ivideon Bridge connected to the same network as the camera. If it's not convenient for you, we have the IP cameras with our firmware onboard at shop.ivideon.com. Please contact us if you have any questions.
