A very good app that makes you to carry your decoder anywhere you go
Increase the channels to include NTA

Live sport streaming a complete shocker

You would think that naspers, as a self professed internet company, would have half an idea how to use elastic cloud servers to meet demand when everyone logs into watch a live event.... but clearly not... the app spends more time trying to buffer and change resolutions that actually showing the content that it makes the experience a complete insult to us as consumers. Trying to watch the sa vs japan game was so bad. If that is best streaming service this company has to offer I am shorting the stock first thing tomorrow morning at the opening bell.
A complete travesty of an app and a service! Avoid like a jacob zuma Julius malema ethics conference!

App only displaying certain channels and programmes

I have been experiencing this for a while now where my DStv now app does not work properly some times there is no catch feature and only certain programmes being displayed only local South African channels. I have logged out and logged back in but nothing helps.

Great app apart from the inability to cast from my iPhone to Chromecast

The app is great in that I can watch anything on the go and the video quality is excellent. It is very easy to use and streams quite consistently. I just don’t know why I can’t seem to cast the app to chromecast. I constantly get the message on my tv screen; sorry, there was a problem playing the video. All the while the cast icon on the top right of my screen is still connected to chromecast. Would like any suggestions from the developer as how to resolve this. Since this is a feature the app has I am disappointed it doesn’t work as it limits what I would like to do that is the reason for my rating. I understand everyone has different uses and if one wants to primarily just stream on the phone or other handheld devices then this does just that brilliantly.

Disappointed

Ever since I got subscribed on this great platform, dstv now app worked on my iPhone and o have repeatedly reported till date nothing works

Update eliminates more viewers

Just because of the new update I can no longer use the app on my older version ipad. One more reason to leave and go to Netflix.

My app has been loading for the past 3months, had to delete and redownload again even upgrade it yet keeps doing same thing. It’s very annoying it takes 5hrs to load yet nothing happens so i go from 11pm-5am then 5am-11am and 11am-5pm keep going round the clock and wasting my data please i need to know why i haven’t been able to watch anything on the app for 3months adding the fact that it won’t stop downloading or loading round the clock please fix it.

No response as yet on functional issues

While the availability of streaming TV on demand is important, Multichoice have still not addressed issues previously raised on the crash of the DSTV Now service (2nd week of May). This is paid for, as part of your premium package, but DSTV do not offer a service to meet your demands for viewing when you want and have a monopoly on this, which is not fair (I have missed live sporting events due to DSTV Now service crashes, and nothing has been done to make up for this). As such their customer service and reliability make me rate this a 1.

Good idea but terrible execution

The overall idea of the app is superb. However, the point is to have the same programs as the ones available on the decoder I suppose? This is not the case. Many shows are blocked on the app due the DSTV not having permission to show them which defeats the essence of the app. Second issue is the fact that many times they jump to the next show while the current show is still running. I guess they set the show sequence based on time no matter if the show started or ended late causing us to miss a chunk of minutes of shows.

Not bad, but...

...not quite there yet, either.

Let’s start with my biggest gripe - and this is a problem with all of DSTV’s digital offerings, including Showmax - why on earth must we be limited to running the app on a small number of devices? With intricate rules governing how often devices can be added or removed? Just do what Netflix and Prime TV and so on do: Limit the number of concurrent streams to two or three, but don’t limit the number of devices please.

Other than that, the ability to remove items from suggestions would be great.

Overall the app is getting better and better, though it lacks just a little bit of polish.
