Reviews of Total Connect Comfort

  • It's been great.

I had the excruciatingly expensive version installed several years ago after my original thermostat screen faded away. While I'm fairly capable of fixing things, the dual fuel heat pump/gas system and its associated wiring intimidated me. Indeed, on my now fifteen year old system, it was definitely not "plug and play" as it apparently is on current systems.
In the beginning, it was absolutely obnoxious. It would regularly crash and require restart to reconnect to the wifi system. NOW, it continues to be absolutely flawlessly reliable after I presume a number of software updates.
If I were to grouse about anything at this point, it would be that (a) the clock runs fast (about 20 minutes a year), and (b) the menu will not show time setting screen without a complete remove the batteries reset. Hopefully the current version of my unit now simply includes automatic synchronizing with internet accessed time.
I should note again that the unit is now absolutely reliable. The aps on both the phone and the tablet work easilty, obviously and flawlessly. It it weren't for the clock issue it would easily earn a "five."
  • Works some but not all of the time

This is a follow up review to previous review. Dear app developers: App needs much improvement! Every time I try to change the temperature, I have to do it at least twice or exit the app and come back into the app for it to change the temp and register my change. Please make this app more user-friendly and make it where adjusting the app takes the first time and doesn’t require several tries. In general I like using the Honeywell app because I can control the air anywhere from the house or bed, which is super useful! That said, the app seems to work decently only half the time. When it works it’s great. But many times the app freezes for no reason, or the temperature does not change after manually selecting new temperature. Also the app randomly logs me out of the app and all functionality and requires having to log back in, which is frustrating. Finally for the Developers, please get rid of that big black annoying Rebate button at the bottom of the app! Thought y’all were going to get rid of it after the last update where everyone complained we don’t like the rebate button! Please move it to another section in the app or get rid of it all together, thank you!

  • Screenshots Don’t Match Actual App

The app works well. Every now and then it might lose connection to WiFi or require that we login. Requiring login is rare compared to how often it disconnects from WiFi and is unable to communicate with the thermostats. We’ve used the app for almost 10 years and always for at least 3 different thermostats at one time on our account. My biggest gripe is that the name of the thermostats are only listed on the first dashboard page. The screenshots on this app download option show the name of the location on the individual thermostat Home Screen and that’s not what’s actually in the app. The screenshots do not accurately reflect how the app looks and I am using the most recent version. The problem for me is if I select one of the thermostats so it takes me to the thermostat’s Home Screen to make changes I had better make my changes right away. If I’m distracted and have to come back to it, the Home Screen and none of the other screens within each individual thermostat has any info to let you know which thermostat you’re looking at. If I can’t recall which thermostat is open, I have to go back to the main dashboard screen that displays all of our thermostats and start again. This is not an issue if you only have a single thermostat. But for us who use it for multiple, this seems like it should be an easy common sense addition.
