Renews 3 days before “renew” date
On the app, it said my account “Renews” on Nov. 18th. Lo and behold, on the 16th, I get a receipt and am charged for the next month. Meaning you had to cancel by the 15th. Emailed them right after and have heard zip since despite them getting back w/in hours in previous support requests. Borderline fraud, and will not only dispute with CC company but file complaints with FTC and California AG if not resolved.
Besides that, have been having a lot more connection issues that a month ago when first signed up. 404 errors, failed to reload, captcha, smtp failures, etc. Plus sometimes really slow that only reconnecting ameliorates. At least half a dozen times per day now. On sites that few other VPNs have issues with. Plus, you can’t send any emails using the Mail app on iPhone, an issue i haven’t seen on any of the dozens of VPNs I’ve tried. And their privacy notice when signing up is the same as any standard company, which very few other VPNs have too, don’t trust them with logs. But borderline fraud when it comes to billing is what makes this not worthy to be trustedShow lessClose but no cigar
Can’t send emails using the iPhone Mail app if using X-VPN… Have never had this issue ever, but noticed a “smtp failed to send error” msg ever since I started using X-VPN. Was getting really annoying so talked to support and they said you can’t send using the Apple mail app with X-VPN (no problem receiving tho, oddly). As i exclusively have used this the Mail app for email for 10+ yrs, and am not downloading 2+ apps for my Mail (and don’t trust google and yahoo with my data), this is a dealbreaker…
Unfortunate as have tried close to 2 dozen VPNs and re: the other features on X-VPN premium (free was slow as molasses) it was one of the best I’ve experienced so far - relatively few disconnections, good speeds compared to others (have to find other modes during peak times half the time tho), lots of options/protocols like video/gaming, kill switch works most of the time (sometimes it doesn’t ie. emails send when disconnecting)…
Blocked by a decent number of sites too, average at best in this category. But overall pretty superior to most if not all of the others I’ve tried. But can’t remember any of the others having this Mail app issue. If they fixed this would pay for premium. A shameShow lessDeveloper Response
Dear NJacuguy, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the issue with the Mail app. Currently, we're aware of this challenge and are actively exploring potential solutions for the future. However, please note that it could take some time before we can offer a comprehensive resolution. In the meantime, we invite you to try using another email app that might work seamlessly with our VPN. We understand that this is not the ideal solution, but we hope it serves as a temporary workaround until we can address the issue more fully. We truly appreciate your understanding and your patience as we work on this. For any further issues or assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at support@xvpn.io. Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for highlighting areas where we can improve. Best Regards, X-VPN Support TeamSo close but no cigar
