  • Great concept, poor execution

I want to like this app, I do. When it works, it’s phenomenal. But generally, it doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to. Tonight, for example, it only completed game 1 and game 3. Where’s game 2? It’s not like I didn’t finish all 3 of my games. And this is not the first time it’s happened. Oddly enough, it happens mainly when I get that extra ball in the 10th frame. (That was not the case tonight, unfortunately).

Please fix whatever is causing this issue. Then I could give it the rating it should deserve.

  • Great app but….

I absolutely love this app. I’ve used it for almost 3 years now. I’m happy to be a paying supporter of it but it definitely has its glitches. Doesn’t always want to connect. Sometimes it only shows 2 games of a 3 game set. I’ll continue to support it in hopes the glitches it does have eventually get addressed and worked out. I suggest downloading this app if you want ease of tracking your stats. It’s great when it’s working.

Thank you for using the app! We are aware of issues that we had in December. Those shall now be solved. Please confirm. If you still experience issues, please reach out to us at support@lanetalk.com. Thank you!
  • Not ready for production

I was hopeful about this. The first night it worked great. Then the second night it only tracked two games. Then three games, then one game, and finally one game. I regret paying for the entire year instead of monthly. Hopefully it’ll be updated and fixed.
  • Update destroyed the app

The app was great and worked well, UNTIL the last update. Now the app is garbage. Can’t get any of the scores to show, and if you’re lucky enough to finally get them to come up, the information and scores are completely inaccurate and worthless. Please fix asap as this was a great app previously. Just another example of something good turned to garbage by greedy developers!

  • Great free app, then ruined with paywall for unlimited scores

I used this app every time went league bowling and practicing, which is very regular.it tracks scores over periods of time, saves high scores and many other useful things. Now with the addition of a subscription system, that is all gone.on the free version you can only see scores from last 6 games, and can’t see historical high scores.thankfully I have photos.back to using my camera.good app, ruined by greed.very disappointing.

  • Great potential

Lanetalk is the only app to my knowledge that will work in tandem with bowing centers who are willing to keep record of almost every score you throw. There are many bugs and glitches that need to be worked out but this is new technology that we haven’t seen in bowling ever. I appreciate what the team is doing and I will continue to support them the only way I know, Throwing more scores for more data!

  • Disappointed

Totally disappointed with the new subscription feature. To many bugs to deal with plus it would have been nice to create different buckets to keep your games separated for different leagues. It would have also been nice to see your actual ball speed, they give you red bars instead of the speed. Since I’ll only be able to see the last six games I’ll be deleting it, shouldn’t have spoiled me before with all the free stats lol

  • Subscription fee is dissapointing

After our lanes just upgraded their computer system it was awesome to see all your stats and get a real-time update of your actual average. All the guys had the app and we would talk about our scores. Since the app was free I was totally fine with dealing with some of the bugs that came along with it.

However, they just switched to a subscription based service and I plan on deleting the app. I can’t understand how they can ask for $25 a year in order to keep track of your stats forever with the same bugs others have been complaining about. The app has trouble claiming games after you have already claimed the first game. It doesn’t automatically recognize you are bowling a second and a third game and I’ve had to go in and reclaim the series every time. Plus it now only tracks the last six games so your average is never correct.

I would be willing to pay a one time purchase to support the developers but the creation of a subscription plan just to access your stats is disappointing. Especially since I recently bowled a 300 and the app now says my highest game is a 215.

Please consider a one time payment and I would be much more interested in supporting your app.

  • Experience ruined

Was a great app to be able to track my progress and see my improvements over the last few months for free but now is switching to subscription based to see more than 6 games. Awful
  • Buggy, at best, for now...

While the concept is GREAT (ie automatically see your scoring live), the implementation is lacking.

1st - How the app works is phenomenal. You just select the bowling alley, choose your lane number, then watch your score & pins knocked down. 👏

2nd - HOWEVER, while the app works, it is VERY finicky and super-particular. By that, I mean if you open the app and watch it ONLY (ie doing nothing else) it works pretty well. 👍

😵‍💫 But, it the app is EVER placed into the background (yes, even while still running) things go bezerk quickly...

⚠️ If you open your camera to take a picture, this app will lose/break the connection and you find yourself in the Twilight Zone very quickly. If you ever check your email, ditto. If you visit Facebook, ditto.

Such a GREAT CONCEPT and works well if you open the app and ALWAYS leave it front & center, but sadly that’s just not how life happens. 🥲

If/when they fix that single failure (ie inability to run in background) I’ll be back to update this review and give it 5 Stars. I’m impressed with all it does, if it could just get along w/others apps by being in the background and continue to update the data.
