Going out on a limb here with hope this is once again 5 stars!
HOORAY! It is now July 2024, and Bible Gateway has at last restored all my notes, favorites and highlights, AND it isn’t crashing, and I can look for passages in two versions at once! Thank God. I have been praying for y’all and have missed using Bible Gateway. I can now cheerfully give it five stars again! My last two reviews are below.
Last one: You can see my previous review below this one. I have waited a few months, and have been using the website some, but I MISS this formerly wonderful app! I see there is a new version, so I am downloading it again today, and praying it is once again worthy of five stars! If it is, I will renew my “Plus” membership next year. When it’s working properly, it is my favorite online Bible. Pray with me for Bible Gateway!! Former review: I have been VERY patient with the paid version of this app, $40 a year! And for the past year, it CONSTANTLY shuts down on me, and now won’t even take me to the Bible! I used to love this app and recommended it to everyone. I’ll try using the web version for a bit, but I cancelled my subscription today. My $40 has been a complete waste this past year…I can’t even look up scriptures, much less access the study tools I’m paying for. I’ve been hopeful after each bug “fix” update, but nothing changes…if anything, it has deteriorated. I’m so sorry.

Updated the app now it no longer works
I was using this app for a very long time. Enjoyed it, then I updated it today and it no longer works. I just get a white screen when I open up the app.
Started out my fav
Unfortunately, Ads destroy your ability to read daily verse. Crashes so you can not get into bible sections frequently. I deleted it in frustration.
Too much interference by ads
The ads pop up before you can even read the daily verse. You can’t close them until the ad has shown for a certain amount of time. I’m mostly seeing games or gambling ads even though I don’t do either of these things. Mega annoying when I’m seeking the Word of God. I may delete the app.
Great on laptop, awful app
I have Bible Gateway+. But the app doesn’t work very well. It shuts down a lot, and the Bible search function doesn’t go well, and some of the buttons seem too high on the screen to actually work, which is weird.
Freaking out
The app has been freaking out lately. Certain audio chapters and books keeps skipping to Revelations. Can’t play Jude and the book of Johns and some Old Testament books.
You really think this is ok?
So frustrated with this app and ads everywhere. I just want to open the app to see the daily verse and I’m bombarded with ads! And half the time the app won’t even load, has a white out screen because of all the ads. I used to love this app and I’ve had it for years, now I’m probably just gonna delete it.

Getting worse and too many ads
I have used this app for years, and it was my preference over some of the more popular ones. (I appreciate their website.) But when they started having advertisements, that was discouraging. It seems that nobody is reviewing the ads, as I have had some inappropriate ads pop up that you would not expect on a Christian app. I have been pretty annoyed with it. This week I just got a new iPhone, the latest model, and now the app does not even fit correctly on the screen. navigation icons are inaccessible for tapping because they are too close to the edges of the screen and trigger various functions of the phone instead of navigating through the app. This is a major flaw! If they release a major update, I may consider continuing to use the app, but as it is right now, I cannot even navigate with it. It is almost useless on my phone. The ads are still working. Just not the Bible part. Bummer. I would rather pay for this app to have it function and have no ads then to have this free version that doesn’t work and has advertisements.

Crash Lands everyday.
Have uploaded, removed. Uploaded, removed far too many times. Rarely works well. Use to so what went wrong? Very good app if it only worked

Please update to include the Māori translation as well as others that are on the site but not the app.
